How come these experts who keep implying Blacks need more vitmain D never bring up the fact that we have the best bone health and strength in the country?

how come these experts who keep claiming that blacks have the best bone health and strength in the country, never provide any supporting evidence?

Meh, like these.

Racial differences in rate of decline in bone mass in older men: the Baltimore men's osteoporosis study. - PubMed - NCBI
Racial Differences in Bone Strength
Longitudinal study of changes in hip bone mineral density in Caucasian and African-American women. - PubMed - NCBI

There were more studies but I got lazy. Anybody can find and read them.

now find the study that shows that having adequate levels of Vitamin D is associated with living two years longer or the one that sows that Vitamin D is about WAY more than bone health, you might even say that it is more so about "extraskeletal" health
Just because your bones may get first dibs on your vitamin D stores leaving other functions wanting (and sadly their effects may be more pernicious and harder to diagnose
Vitamin D fights cancer, it supports you immune system etc etc ...
So you can ignore your vitamin D if you want but other black people should not, in fact they should strive to reach levels closer to 75 rather than 30ng/dl

Here's my counter.

The article in the op mentions concentrates on bone health so much because there are studies that won't be done until 2017 that can provide more data on what vitamin D can do outside of affecting bones.

My main concern(theirs too) is that they are worried African Americans might be over-prescribed in the process of boosting our intake of the vitamin and be harmed or might benefit from it.

I think the link below does a better job of looking at the vitamin with closer scrutiny and why we should not change our habits just yet.

If you eat 2 eggs every morning you good yeah?

You way off breh....

Eggs are necessary daily for the average male just make sure to pair with Omega 3 to keep the cholesterol in check. But the real thing that helps keep cholesterol good is keeping your bile production good which means a strong liver. Bitter herbs improve bile production so add spices/herbs to your omelette in the morning.

I been studying this shyt for 10+ years since I was 19 you got a lot of catching up to do. Hit the books (Google)

Vitamin D levels pre-1960's was something like 65 ng/dl (would be considered in the top 10% today) but due to various dietary changes that has decreased over time and most average 25ng/dl without supplementation at best. A lot of this is due to more white collar indoor jobs vs. outdoor etc.

Blacks in North America should err on the side of more than less. Above a 75 ng/dl may cause issues like bone spurs but that is easily prevented resolved with adequate K and Magnesium tissue (not blood serum) levels.

99% of African Americans have low levels of Vitamin D
Dark skinned people who live where they can get plenty of sun (near the equator) and their vit. D naturally have their blood levels near the 75-100ng/dl with no negative effects noted during investigative research
meta-analysis shows you can safely take 2-4000 IU per day to supplement without issue
