Man, woman, and child
1. Rakim
8. Method Man
5. Roxanne Shante
4. Eve
7. Masta Ace
2. Kool Moe Dee
6. Doug E. Fresh
3. Master P

This had some tough ones. Rakim over Kendrick is a no brainer. I picked Meth cuz Diamond D was a better producer than rapper. Plus Meth was the breakout star of the greatest group ever. I took Roxanne Shante over the Fresh Prince cuz she held her own in a crew full of some legends and really was the first female rapper who was a star. Plus she started that answer record trend of the mid 80s. I also feel like the Fresh Prince kinda bit Slick Ricks style. I took Eve over Guru cuz she could really really spit. Without Primos production who knows if we ever woulda heard of Guru. Masta Ace over MC Ren was easy too. Ren was nice but Masta Ace was a beast on the mic. Moe Dee over Jaz is a no brainer. Doug E Fresh over Fab was tough cuz lyrically Fab is miles better but Doug been involved in more classics and is the beat box king. The Show and Lodi Dodi are better than Fabs whole career. I took Master P over Coolio. Coolio is the better rapper too but Master P was one of the greatest businessman in rap history. Coolio was corny as fukk especially after Gangstas Paradise

Really tho Kendrick hasn't accomplished that much yet. He's only had one album and you could make the argument that people love it so much cuz hardly anything else came out in 2012.
I agree.personally I wouldn't have him going that far.

There is something to be said for a new rapper who's attempting to be lyrical going platinum in this sales climate

I feel you. I like Kendrick a lot. I just think if that album come outs 15-20 years ago its viewed a little different

Fresh Prince had some hits with Summertime prolly the best but if not for his tv show who knows where he would be right now. His whole style and image was on that late 80s early 90s Kid N Play bullshyt
he had rep as a battle emcee before he got signed/blew up though, son was not to be messed with/wasn't soft at all

you could tell in his earlier work a switch could be flipped even, Kid N Play and co. would've got wrecked :whew:
