People lie to themselves about their ability to be a spouse and/or parent, even though their is nothing inherently wrong with not wanting to take on either responsibility. And then you have society questioning people when they are not married or have kids, which adds pressure. But some people don't have the values, habits, and resources to do the job, unfortunately they don't have an alternative framework to fall back on. And so you eventually end up with a mismatch after the fact.
I challenge alot of assumptions within my own family regarding family creation. I've told my nephew it's ok if he doesn't want to get married or have kids. But I also tell him that coming from poverty in NYC means that his tradeoffs are probably gonna be more substantial. And that the variables of poverty, blackness, geography, lack of social capital can be overcome but require a larger degree of sacrifice and planning. Thus, this puts me at odds with the rest of the fam that places too much emphasis on fate and social status when it comes to marriage and having a kid.

No they don't. Less than half of marriages end in divorce and 70% of divorces are initiated by women. So if you get married there's less than a 35% chance she will want a divorce. And odds are it won't be out of the blue.Not everyone but a majority of men will, stats prove it.
Plus there's 3 sides to every story.... your version, her version, and the truth. Whatever happened with you prob didn't come out of nowhere, you prob just don't want to admit your part in it. Personal responsibility is played out... you see it all day here in any kind of thread about relationships.

So don't judge until you in that situation.

Answer is real simple, if a man is successful or has a way with words, charming, whatever, if he can get one woman, he def has the options to get more.
For me, I would get bored after 6 months to a year and start seeing chicks on the side...often the side pieces and jump offs became mains....
