because the shyt is so diluted....its very hard to keep up with 82 games for one team. Like I can be a fan of a team and miss many games because in the long run it doesn't mean shyt unlike the nfl. 90-95% of the games you play count.

It's always going to be like that. The causal NBA fan isn't going to pay attention till after march madness. Think about it. shytty MNF matchups do better than game 7 of an NBA finals.

Consider this

LA sucks
NY has been irrelevant for a decade
Boston is rebuilding
Philadelphia sucks
Chicago and DC have both been stagnant
Most of the teams in Middle America and the south have been irrelevant for a long time

The league has a serious problem with balance of power. Only 3-5 teams feel like they can go all the way in any given NBA year. There's no reason for people in most of the other markets to bother tuning in

"Nobody else has said it, so I will. The problem is one of "color." You have very tall (with exaggerated height measurements) black dudes from the inner cities, covered by gross tattoos . Many game watchers cannot relate to these players since they are so foreign to their own environment and life style. The same demo might also be true in the NFL but they all wear protective gear that makes this much less obvious. Plus so many of the players have off the court criminal and drug issues that make them less than admirable human beings. And as most others have said, the "rules" (lack of traveling, charging, blocking calls, etc.) of the game have been so b*stardized that the game no longer resembles the game most of us grew up. Unfortunately for the NBA, many of us would rather watch a rerun of the "Hoosiers'" movie on TV than a live version of today's NBA game on TV."

:heh: The type of people who actually won't watch a sport because of race NEVER watched basketball, this cac just needed a reason to take shots at blacks, and got one

There's legitimately two elite teams with the Cavs borderline and OKC inconsistent as hell

Race plays a role imo with a lot of NBA detractors but why is it that the NHL never does numbers then? Why is it that MLB's national ratings have declined over the years?

like I said 100x before, when Kobe is gone, who will carry this league?

:jbhmm:
That lightskinned square you hate will have the juice for a few years along with Bron on the backside of his career

As far as young cats go, Drummond, Greek Freak, Wiggins and AD look like stars in the making. Jury will be out on Ben Simmons
