If anything playing in the FIBA games this summer made him better.
Agreed, just the confidence he's playing with. Last year if he missed a few shots it seemed like he'd become hesitant. This year he doesn't give a fukk and just pulls up if he gets a look. A consistent second scorer to go along with Steph just makes this team so damn dangerous and Klay has become that. As long as Bogut stays healthy this team will go far. Just wondering how things look with Lee coming back. If they could move him I think they should think about it. I'd take Speights at a much lower salary if they could move Lee and bring back an asset.

People giving all the credit to MJax are under-crediting the front office for turning over this roster

MJax Year 1 - 23-43

Tank Year. Steph ankles still a problem and we wanted to get into next years draft for the talent and push the pick owed to Utah to the next draft which sucked. Trade Monta for an injured Bogut down the stretch.

Main Rotation
Point - Monta/Nate Rob
Wings - Klay/Dorrell Wright/Brandon Rush
PF - David Lee
C - Biedrins / Tyler / Other Losers

MJax Year 2 - 47-35

Turnover Year. Steph finally healthy. Bring in Jarret Jack/ Carl Landry through FA. Barnes/Draymond/Ezeli through the draft.

Main Rotation
Point - Steph / Jarret Jack
Wings - Klay / Barnes / Draymond
PF - David Lee / Landry
C - Bogut / Ezeli

Mjax Year 3 - 51-31

Incremental Improvement. Clear contracts for Igoudala. Lose Jack/Landry to FA. Bring in random bench fillers

Main Rotation
Point - Steph
Wings - Klay / Igoudala / Barnes
PF - D.Lee / Draymond / Speights
C - Bogut / Jermaine O'Neal

------

Outside of not getting a backup for Steph in Year 3, the roster was improved every year ... meanwhile the offense started to stagnate. It was either:

1. Steph pick and roll at the top (If Dray, Steph shoots. If Lee, Steph dishes to rolling Lee)
2. Klay/Barnes/Jermaine O'Neal ISO's

In addition, because of the mass hockey line substitutions ... the starters would get leads, the bench was shyt out of luck, then the starters would come back in to try and win the game.

Mjax got them to believe they could win, but that only goes so far at the highest level in the playoffs. Winning 4 series against the best in the NBA requires game planning and strategy on top of the talent and he basically said he doesn't believe in game preparation.

Mjax = Singletary. Kerr = Harbaugh.

You nikkas is heartless. We were the laughing stock of the league defensively before Jackson got here.

I still think MJax had a big role in getting us to be a winning team, but giving ALL the credit to him seems a bit much.

Did he instill all the defensive principles? Or does any of the credit go to Mike Malone? What really is the defensive system he instilled outside of hiding Steph on defense by cross matching with Klay?

Also, we're running a much different (and better defensive system this year). We don't hide Steph by cross-matching with Klay ... Steph now hedges his man to certain areas. Klay/Dray/Barnes switch everything nullifying pick and rolls/motion. We funnel everything to Bogut and once the ball goes below the free throw extended ... Steph plays Free Safety

Also, was our defensive improvement solely coaching? Or the fact Monta/Dorrell/B.Rush/Biedrins (non-defenders) turned into Bogut/Igoudala/Draymond/Barnes who are all good to great on defense?

End of the day ... it's the player's on the court ...

:laff:

Yall kill me on how yall love to elevate these white folks..........

White man logic...

11 game win streak in an 82 game season is on par with 2 NFC appearances, a Super Bowl appearance, all within 3 years.............:dead:

The season is a quarter of the way through, no playoff criteria yet, but he's comparable to guy that's 46-16 with a SB appearance....

if your skin is white and you losing in life, you need to be ashamed of yourself......

So why is everybody giving all the props to Kerr?

I think people are currently over-rating Kerr. But that's gonna happen with common fans with a W-L record that they have right now.

Thus far, we've had the 9th easiest Strength of Schedule - .466. And during this 11 game win streak, the SOS is only .328.

Also, much like MJax's teams were improved, Kerr has the advantage of a team hitting it's prime (Steph/Klay/Dray and to a lesser extent Barnes) and again the roster is improved (Livingston, Barbosa)

But I do think he's made incremental improvements MJax wouldn't. E.g. the motion offense and the aforementioned defensive changes. In addition, putting players in position to succeed (E.g. hiding Barnes with the starters and telling him to rebound first. Finding Speights' role in the pick and pop.)

The real test is when our schedule heats up (starts today) and we start getting about 5-6 "real" games per month. We'll see how he handles it when the schedule gets tougher and of course the Playoffs. Much like Mjax, I think he has a short rope, he basically has to get to the Championship series in 2 years or else it's basically a wash.

Dudes crazy before mark got there the warriors had been turning over the roster since that team with Davis and Steven Jackson got broken up. Mark changed the whole culture around.

Joe Lacob apologizes to Jackson

Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob, who criticized Mark Jackson's management skills and likability last week, apologized to his former coach Sunday.
"I have a tremendous amount of respect for Mark Jackson and what he accomplished as our head coach," Lacob wrote in an email to the Bay Area News Group. "He did a terrific job. I've said that many times over the last several months and in recent days, including at this week's event.

"I was asked to draw comparisons earlier this week between building businesses in the tech world and the sports world and, unfortunately, I used some poor judgment. That's my mistake. I did attempt to reach out to Mark on Friday, and I certainly apologize for my comments and any unintended harm. I know that Mark will succeed again in this business."
