But The Lox, Canibus and Pun didnt come on the scene till 98..Also Outkast really stepped up their bars. Then u throw in Em in 99.
Diff type of lyrical but def they are (latter 3) most lyrical mcs of they era. I dont disagree with you at all.
Lox are def lyrical but ill take p/mobb deep hell on earth shyt over ANY lox
Canibus was a monster among men. He was doing shyt like inspectah decks triumph verse, EVERY SONG. Really was an incredible run.
Em and pun def lyrical but more machine gun punchline bars. It was like getting hit in the head with a jackhammer.
Andre def took it somewhere extra on aquamini
To further your 98 claim
People say wu fell off but rae, gza and meth got even BETTER it was the beats that suffered.
I wont agrue with anyone saying 95-98. Those are the peak years where guys were just going above n beyond what was conaidered normal.
And i love the 93/94 era and albums like illmativ n 36 chambers but imo wu and nas got WAY more advanced after that.
Deck was droppin lines like “quater back sacks like LT” and “swinging thru like neighborhood spiderman”. Dope lines but compare that to “i bomb atomocally” they are 2 diff styles
Hip hop in 93/94 was still transitioning from the 80s/early 90s into those artists defining eras which were really 94-99 imo. So anyone sayingbthose times i dont agree at all even tho theres a buncha gems there but things were way more advanced in 95/96/97/98
If i could be exact id say 96-98
Peak time for
Canibus
Pun
Biggie
Nas
Wutang
Jay
Mobb deep
Pac
Etc etc
I cant really pick a year just xertain projects
