Pau was a top-3 two-way big man in 2009 and 2010. There were very few bigs who could play on both ends as well as he could. He was making All-NBA as a PF every year from 2009 to 2011 even though LeBron, KD, Carmelo, PP, KG, Dirk, Duncan, LMA, Bosh, and Blake were all listed as forwards.

Was KG a top-15 player? Was Dwight Howard a top-15 player? Because Pau outplayed both of them head-to-head in the Finals.

Bosh didn't come close to touching any All-NBA teams in that span, and 2/3 of those years were before he joined the Heat. Also, Pau and Bosh played 20 games head-to-head in their career:

Pau: 20-10-3 and 1.2 blocks on 53% shooting
Bosh: 18-9-2 and 0.9 blocks on 49% shooting

And Bosh actually took more shots than Pau in those games but still finished with worse numbers.

Pau was borderline trash before he teamed up with Kobe. He had never even won a playoff game..

Bron played with 5 players better than him in his career.
What five are those? :gucci:

Y'all move the goalposts like a mofo. Tell me how many playoff games Bosh, Love, Kyrie, Z, Mo, and Hughes had won COMBINED before they teamed up with LeBron. :russ:

Kobe played more seasons with Shaq alone than LeBron played with Wade and Kyrie combined. Add in Pau and that's 13 years that he played with elite All-NBA bigs, while LeBron only had four seasons with All-NBA teammates in his entire career.

Let’s look at blogs back then thinking about pau gasol. Y’all revising history like crazy

Top 50 NBA Players
We go by that blog's rankings then LeBron was facing a Dallas Superteam with 3 top-15 players.

But that's exactly what you're doing. You're the one who named the damn thread and then you're using 2007 rankings as receipts?

Huh I’m showing receipts of what people thought of gasol pre Kobe/lakers which was 2007. 2011 has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation. Someone stated lakers traded for an elite big which was obviously false narrative

American education system failing again. Hopefully your kids won’t be asking your for help with homework

It's obvious cats are stat measuring lmao. If you actually watched the guys play nobody can say Bosh was significantly better than Pau, that suggestion is laughable. As would be the reverse, on balance they were the same caliber of player. This board loopy as fukk, it's really weird how basketball culture has reinvisioned Chris Bosh and done the same to Pau in reverse...

Lakers aren't winning two titles in three years without Pau...

And big LOL at the '07 player rankings by a basketball blog site....

The 313
"Bu bu Kobe didn't even have a top 15 teammate". Dude is arguably the worst finals MVP in NBA history. There's only been 2 times that the nba finals MVP shot below 50% with kobe doing it both times. Dude has the worst shooting percentage of all nba finals mvps. That's not including all of his regular season nba-worst records.

It doesn't matter what pau was ranked during that lakers run, kobe had wild help. Dude went 6/24 in a game 7 at home with his team still winning. You dudes analyze the game like little boys.

???? Obviously you don't like Kobe... But now we just blatantly lie?

Why LOL it’s the only proof we have of what people thought. You are clearly using bias of now pau and bosh career turned out. It’s proof y’all making up Pau was a elite player prior to coming to the lakers, while downplaying Bosh. It basically proves the point y’all revising history

Kobe made his players be themselves or better. When u played with him he didn’t want u to sacrificeyour game. Pau was in Memphis doin the same thing he did in LA but even better. Pau should not improved playing with a ball hog who don’t make players better.
Lol you mean phil jacksons triangle made people better.

This is facts

Pau was a Bosh-level player...the perception of how each were seen by the media post kobe/lebron was always funny to me...Pau instantly started getting lauded as if he was tim duncan while Bosh got the same treatment as kevin love where playing with lebron damn near meant the end of him being considered a legitimate star in the league...now part of that is results based...Pau was able to fully play his game while playing with Kobe and his impact on the court was actually magnified ... Bosh had to make concessions and alter his game to make way for playing with two top 5 players in Bron and Wade and their style of play...but in a vaccum pau and bosh were the same tier of player

Now as far as Lakers' fans hate of Pau, you'll find similar sentiments from pretty much every fanbase of every team he's ever played for...before and after the Lakers...it's just his "Pau as some approximation of Tim Duncan" sheen only existed from the outside looking in when he had on a lakers jersey

You dudes really cant stick to the issue here.
