Was there a big talent gap between Tom Brady and the QB's in his era?

I'm talking compared to Rodgers, Brees, Farve and Manning. They say Mahomes is in a league of his own and the others are playing catch up.

Rodgers had a better arm than Brady, and Peyton was near his level at many things too. Brady had a better processor and better poise than them. But he was not significantly more talented than them either. Brees had a weaker arm but his pocket presence was as good and had slightly better touch. Favre was a better raw physical talent but Brady was still more talented in everything else beyond the physical part of the game.

But by this logic, Mahomes isn't significantly more talented than his peers either. Josh Allen is arguably more physically gifted. Herbert's arm is incredible. Lamar is also incredibly physically talented his speed and arm as well (too bad he didn't run in that playoff game...).

The success difference comes down to poise in clutch moments, processing, memory, pre-snap - all of which counts as talent as well - and team circumstance. But people downplay the processing and decision making and think that team circumstance is the only deciding factor

There can only be one winner every year.

These last 2 decades have been stacked with QB talent during Brady's time, right now, etc.

A lot of talent has gone through the QB position.

However, there still is only one winner though out of 32 other starting QB's and right now it's the Chiefs' time. Like Mahomes, Brady has stopped a lot of QB's from winning more rings or winning a single ring. Even the years dude didn't win the Super Bowl the Patriots knocked off some big names. I still honestly think Rivers/LT/Gates would have a ring if they didn't draw the Pats back in 06.

QB can do so much today and dominate a game like any other generation: dropping dots from the pocket, scrambling for yards, dropping dimes on the run, etc. However, it still takes a team to stay healthy, get stops (get to the other QB), catch the ball, protect the QB, make plays, etc. like it does every season.

No, Brady is so far above due to # of rings and (related) star power, as we all know the NFL is not the NBA as far as one person being such a difference maker and playing a 100 games so that you have a fair outcome.

He had like 3-4 guys on the same level (slightly above or below) as far as talent and skills go.

Manning and Rodgers were even more talented than he was.
Manning was not more talented than Brady. Brady had the stronger arm. Peyton’s skill was his aptitude for the game. He probably had better touch on his deep ball. Drew Bledsoe was actually more talented than Brady at throwing he just didn’t process like him.

If Manning doesnt have the neck injury people dont see the gap imo.

People were legit debating if Manning was the GOAT a decade ago. However, that arm kept getting worse.

If he had Brees longevity then he might have stole a couple of Brady's rings.

Peyton's big strike was outside of the poor play-off performances, dude also had a lot of trouble with base 3-4 defenses.

Patriots, Steelers, Chargers, etc. gave dude some serious troubles. I remember when our team picked Manning off 6 times.

Meanwhile, Brady always seemed to kill our defense. Dang near made it look effortless while doing it.

People say Manning would dissect defenses today, but I'm not really so sure of that due to how much coordinators like Spags shift defenders around (what Beli used to to when he had the personnel). Dude would make some really bad throws when he was confused/rattled.

What the Chiefs were doing to Tua for example was next-level and exactly the types of defenses Peyton would have problems with:

not remotely true at all. U act like he was lighting it up in the playoffs up until his neck injury. Dude was a regular season hero, thats all.
