Bottom line Yanks have had a great season but it means nothing. It was always going to be them, Astros and the Sox in the American League and the playoffs will end up being those three battling it out despite their regular season records.

As a Tigers fan, I have to correct these talking points. Verlander shoulda won the Cy Young in 2016 (I'll never get over those idiot voters giving it to Porcello. All of them should have lost their votes :snoop:); his ERA and WHIP in 2015 were 3.38/1.088; in 2017 he had a mediocre first half of the season. After his second start in July leading up to the trade, he was trending back towards dominance. His velocity never wavered either. He was always throwing mid-high 90s except when he had that oblique injury and surgery.

Every contender should have been trying to get him: Yanks, Cubs, Dodgers, Nats, etc.

Fair enough :ehh:

I just remembered him struggling to throw over 93-95 mph at one point.

Breh...everybody been saying that shyt. :dead:

And tonight could be a good thing considering the trade deadline is less than a week away.

That said, though: is a dude like Stroman or even MadBum gonna make that much of a difference? Unless we get two of the best "available" guys out there - which would cost us - having one new guy won't help the other four starters.

We can only pray Sevy returns in top form - which, is asking a lot.

Yankees are built for a 162 game season
Not the playoffs
Hope things dont fall apart now
sadly seems that way.

assuming the roster stays relatively the same (taking into account the impending arrivals of "Glass Joe" Stanton, Sevy, and Betances), the only way I see this team going far into the post-season is if this team goes on a NY Giants '07 run. Just hitting stride at the right time.

Truth of the matter is, I could see them getting 2-hit in the post-season by the likes of any of the following:
Verlander, Cole, Price, Sale, Morton, Snell, Kluber, Bauer, Fiers, Mantas

I'll be pleasantly surprised if we make the ALCS.

I feel like Cash is gonna reinforce the bullpen :shaq2: or pull off some crazy trade like getting Luis Castillo, Greinke, or the like. Gonna be :beli: or :ohhh:
