And I wonder why that is.I've barely mentioned Wiseman. When the Wizards give Deni Avdija a max deal, you can celebrate all summer long.
I used to get weekly tags from you and then nothing.

Yeah, unless Poole decides to play at his paygrade, it’s a wrap.Exactly.
Melo had to grind past a trash coach who was clearly holding him back and then made some bums look very tolerable. Literally the only two things worth watching in Charlotte are Melo and the hyped announcer. Miles Bridges could’ve been eating but he is intent on crashing out.
GSW fans won’t admit the Melo shyt or the incompetent front office because they know this team is about to be permanently obliterated by Rui Hachimura and the ghost of Scotty Pippen Jr by the end of the week and they’ll say “hey it was a good run”.
@tremonthustler1 I see where your thinking is flawed let me help you
What you’re doing is thinking ‘well GS plays like xyz, lamelo doesn’t fit with xyz.’
That’s irrelevant bruh. Players come before the system, not the other way around. They can play any way. STEPH can play any way. Dude just had 14 assists, a week after having 50 and taking 38 shots. He can play anywhere anyhow you’re buggin my guy
1. Dante’s “role” is what it is because thats all his talent allows …a better player in those minutes would obviously give you more value
2. Having to pay a guy max money means you likely have a good playerLike my brother what are you even saying here? “Ohh no we have tooo many good players that we have to pay” I don’t understand what kind of argument that is …are you suggesting that you rather have bad players that don’t command high salaries? Help me digest what you’re trying to say here.
Ok bro so now are you’re insinuating that Lamelo would have looked sooooooo good on the Warriors that they would of course not trade him and thus not extract true value for him?cmon my bro
I just showed you an example of a team that moved on from a young player because of roster construction and the value proposition that young player offers you if you let him go …if the Kings would do that to accommodate building a better team for DeAron Foxx you’re going to sit here and straight face say that the warriors wouldn’t have traded either Ball or Poole to accommodate Steph Curry and building a better balanced team for him?
Like even if what you’re saying about clusterfukk teams is true that’s still a good problem to have as you still have an off ramp in that situation with a trade that can benefit your team.
This is a bunch of excuse making tbh, the guy played what 5 college games, you mean to tell me they didn’t know he was going to be “behind” in his development lmao that’s called neglect at best and incompetence at worst
He wasn’t good before the injury he wasn’t good after the injury he was simply never a good basketball player period… his demise steams from him simply not being good and being OVERDRAFTED based solely on physical traits instead of basketball ability… we’ve seen this time and time and time again with big men in drafts.. especially when they flash a level of athleticism at that size
Well I don’t know if the Warriors actually had a competitive package to solicit a move up to #1 at the time. What would that offer have even looked like? And what guarantees the Wolves would have taken it? It’s one thing to say you’re shopping your pick it’s another to make the deal.
There’s variables in that scenario outside of the Warriors pure boneheaded decision making process unlike them directly choosing to draft James Wiseman
nikka…. There is no predetermined set in stone role. If Lamelo is on the warriors they’d be a different team, and he would be playing a wholely unique role. He wouldnt be playing ‘the Jordan Poole role’…just like Jordan poole isn’t playing ‘the igoudala role’I haven't brought up play style much because I don't think that's the issue. I'm not saying whether he'd suck in a lesser role. I'm saying paying someone that kind of money for that role is a poor allocation of funds. It's a volatile role as Poole has proven during this postseason.
They never have and it’s never really ultimately mattered in the end …that system doesn’t need to and is never going to prioritize a heavy use big…they play their best basketball small historically ..so why chase it? There’s no logic behind that besides vanity ..or trying superficially to reinvent the wheel …this team and their style was never designed to be front court centric to begin with so that makes spending a prized asset like the #2 pick in the draft on a project center even more regrettable from a contextual POV …they already had a competent starter in Looney ..they could have went right into free agency that year and easily grabbed someone like Bobby Portis for dirt cheap like Mil did and be set for another 3-4 years.. instead they chased trying to build the perfect NBA 2k “meta” roster with Allstars at every position when they should have simply doubled down on the winning formula of perimeter oriented skill players who historically thrive there1. Having an embarrassment of riches is fine if you're not deficient elsewhere. Golden State doesn't have much front court size (and definitely won't if Draymond walks) and it hasn't been for lack of effort. The scrap heap guys they were getting weren't panning out. That's something they're still trying to address.
Again for this scenario to play out your doomsday prognostication couldn’t have also played out ..if Lamelo evolved so much during the years leading to his extension that they would be willing to pay him annnnnd not trade him he OBVIOUSLY would have developed into a valuable player within the structure of their system (that’s a win)2. Again, not judging LaMelo as a player. I'm saying teams are clingy. If I deem you worthy of that sort of money, I'm gonna be hard pressed to trade you even if it makes sense to do so.
The Kings Front Office didn’t … and that’s all that matters ..they were obviously more sharp more informed and more versed on making that decision than some talking head or chat board posters …but more importantly they had the choice/option to make that move to begin with because they utilized their draft resources properly to take Hali in the first place …that is the whole point you seem to be missing in this exchangeRe: your Kings point, most people thought they were catering to the wrong guard. That's why many people ripped them for dealing Haliburton, some just wondering why they didn't just stick it out with all the guards they had. They made a tough choice. Had they not done so, they're not lighting beams. Most teams wanna hedge.
Yeah I don’t know about that …I recall reports coming out after the draft that once Minny locked in on Ant late in the process it was over …maybe they could have struck earlier around the lottery idk ..but either way what we do know for sure is that they were definitively able to draft someone else and they did not3. I can easily answer the last question:
They did. All it woulda took was the 2nd pick and the pick they got in the Wiggins deal (which wound up being Kuminga).
This comment didn’t age wellPoole doesn’t become Poole if Lamelo is there
Of course they fukked up
These bozos knew on draft night that Klay was injured and destined to befrom that point on.
There was plenty tape on Melo and dude literally showed out in the NBL.
Now if the warriors just wanted to “win now” with the current crew from that time and get whatever was left out of Steph and Co then I understand. But your future always matters. This team isnt the 1997 Bulls.
But you can build around Melo and watch how crazy his free agency looks next year. And watch the Lakers somehow pull him in![]()
Poole doesn’t become Poole if Lamelo is there
That was the main talking point for coping with not taking LaMelo. That, and the warriors didnt like Lavar Ball. Seeing as how Wiseman was stastically the worst impact player in the league and still is, and Lavar hasn't really said much since LaMelo was drafted, the whole situation is a complete L for the Warriors. Drafting a G-League player with the 2nd overall pick, then salary dumping him, instead of drafting the future ROY and All-Star is a huge mistake. Unfathomably bad draft management. The kinda shyt that would normally get a GM fired. This comment didn’t age well
