Not true in the least IMO. Melo is still a top 5 player in the NBA whose game is not based on athleticism. He could have had a team built around him after Kobe retired or even on Kobe's demise that could have made moves. Instead our best bet for the future is Julius Randle who I personally think is a bum. I'd rather have 25 year old crippled former MVP as my future than old Kobe and Randle.

Honestly, this whole situation proves even Doc Buss wasn't perfect. He started this by trying to groom cokehead at the beginning of the 3peat. That's the shyt that pushed Logo out, the shyt that eventually pushed Phil out, and the shyt that damn near pushed Kobe out too. I've tried giving it a chance, but it's hard to ignore the remarkable ineptitude of the GOAT franchise every time jim has real power. It's fukked up, but until further notice the franchise has been hijacked and is held hostage by this columbian snow sniffin megalomaniac.
