On KRS One's nose, eating sunflower seeds.
The demise could've been avoided if:

1. They made Phil coach and put him in the front office.
2. Dwight would've stayed and been put in check by Phil.
3. Kobe accepting 15 million a year.
4. FAs would've been tearing the door down to come.
5. Buss keep quiet and let his staff work.

LWO y'all deserve better, now I can't read y'all epic posts in the Coli no mo'.

Not true in the least IMO. Melo is still a top 5 player in the NBA whose game is not based on athleticism. He could have had a team built around him after Kobe retired or even on Kobe's demise that could have made moves.
It's all true breh.

i) Yall would have had $50m tied up between two perimeter players (not to mention, Kobe's on his last legs) who provide minimal defense
ii) Yall weren't going to compete for a title with Kobe/Melo/Randle/Gasol, that shyt would be food in the West
iii) You couldn't have built around Melo with Kobe still on the team - not enough remaining cap to build a contender
iv) Melo needs a ready-made squad now, deciding to build around him in 2016 only decreases his chances of winning a title tenfold

Instead our best bet for the future is Julius Randle who I personally think is a bum. I'd rather have 25 year old crippled former MVP as my future than old Kobe and Randle.
Just think with that money you would've spent on Melo, can now be used to get one of the other younger free agents (or two), and you might strike gold with one of them + you have Randle to develop as well (who knows he might prove you wrong). It's certainly better having three younger players to gamble on and seeing how they grow, rather than throwing all your eggs into one basket and coming up short for the next two seasons. And just think, if yall are shytty for another season and get a top 5 spot in the lottery - you'll be able to get one of: Muiday, Okafor, Oubre, Towns, Johnson or Alexander in the draft.

You were never gonna be bad enough with Melo to get a top 5 pick (any pick LA gets after that goes to Phoenix) and you were never gonna be even remotely good enough to be a contender with him.

Yall won.

Nah that won't change ever. It's all about adjustment, if anything this was one of our strongest years as a stanbase. I think it's cuz we had to pick up the Lakers entertainment for ourselves since the team was impossible to watch. We just gotta go harder than ever, if this offseason ends in failure then its a good chance this stanbase goes at it with cokehead once and for all.

We don't have our 2015 pick unless it's top 5 and theres no way a team with Kobe playing is going to be among the top 5 bottom of the barrel scrapers, we saw how adept GM's are at tanking this year. Aside from that I like the rest of what you're saying but I'd still rather give it a go with Melo + Kobe +Pau + Randle and maybe some intense WC playoff action would be very good for the kid. You make a compelling argument but I just feel like it's better to gamble than to enter purgatory.

Hearing stronger indications Melo is heavily weighing CHI. 1 high-ranking source: CHI was favorite after all meetings. Torn over NY & Kobe.

:shaq2: Kobe the only reason why Melo even thought about us, FO better do some shyt. :beli: Ain't Cokehead Buss say he is gonna step down if Lakers aren't contenders in 3 years?
