Weapons was a good horror film.

One of the best in recent years. Comparing it to movies other people talked about on the past few pages....I liked it more than Barbarians (great set up, ended stupid), Nosferatu (stupid plot, the atmosphere and cinematography are its only upside), Bring Her Back (not horror, just a nasty, grotesque movie), and Longlegs (great setup, ended stupid). The only other horror movies I liked as much as this were The First Omen (I was late watching) and Smile 2.

With that said, Sinners is a great movie, period. People aren't going to be talking about Weapons next month. Coogler made Clarksdale, Mississippi feel like a character and made Smoke & Stack feel like relatives.

Edit: I must've misremembered Barbarian :manny: I watched it today and it's good.

Realistically speaking both Alex and Justine should have been constant under 24/7 surveillance considering they were the only two in that classroom to not go missing. There were no other leads to follow outside of those two and the fact that they were able to go on about their business especially Alex was convenient writing.

Funniest Horror movie of all time.
I laughed from the jump scares and from the goofy stuff.
Is this Cregger guy trolling? I read that he's a comedian.
The Witch and the Junkie are my most hated ass characters of 2025.

Most memorable stuff to me:

The witch's chase and death.
The Junkie needle stab.
Peeling skin off with a potato peeler.
The Witch in the gay Asian house.
The jump scare with the witch in the basement.
Asian Guy being a zombie.
Alex's parents stabbing themselves
The jump scares with the junkie in the house and Alex stepping over the salt causing his parents to become scary.

It started off excellent with a nice mystery and great drama and character study, but then unravels with the whole goofy ass witch angle and the final act is borderline slapstick comedy, there was no tension my whole theatre was laughing.

Yall dudes are overrating the hell out of this movie. LOL

1. The first half is boring and felt like it was going nowhere.

2. The teacher and the cop's complicated relationship seemed unnecessary for the plot of the movie.

3. The kid's parents going in to their "Resting" state and their jobs and friends not wondering where they are or what happened to them?

4. There's no way all those kids went into one house and nobody saw anything. None of the neighbor's door cams saw all those kids going to that one house.

5. And when the police did a search of the house, again, where kid all the kids go and hide, and then come back and not be seen by anybody?

6. The cop getting stabbed with the junkie's needle for the second time, and this time in the face with multiple needles and the cop just asked him if he had any disease and then he just kept working and didn't go immediately to the hospital.

7. The kids chasing the aunt at the end wasn't even scary. It just looked like kids running. It got more intense as the chase went on but still not scary. Actually, it got kinda "campy" towards the end when the aunt was running through people houses.

I could list more things, but I'll stop there. Rating 6.5/10

It was an OK horror movie but not as good as yall dudes are making it out to be.
