How is saying someone is afraid to compete personal? It is nothing to do with your home life or things you do off of the court. It is a basketball related observation. Shaq is wrong here and always act like a bytch when it comes to his opinions

Mann got kids, and it's basketball, it's a superstar league on the outside even though it's a team league on the inside.

Tim Duncan is held to a lower standard than LeBron.

Timmy played on the spurs and the coach is just as known as Timmy. Spurs always played team ball the media sees them as such media sees Bron solo must do it by his self.

It could be taken as a personal attack, considering LeBron calls himself the King and the Chosen One, chasing Jordan's ghost etc. Saying he's afraid to compete makes him sound like a bytch. I think Charles comments were relevant from a basketball perspective, but I can see why LBJ took it the way that he did.

Saying someone is whinny, an idiot, and doesn't want to compete, goes beyond basketball and is a personal attack.

Had he just said "Lebron needs no help" that would have been fine, but when he takes an extra couple minutes making assumptions and attacking his mental state, then I can see why Lebron reacted the way he did. Especially considering Chucks history of being an instigator.

I don't remember Tim Duncan getting the props Lebron did...or calling himself the best player in the game...or stealing Kyrie Irving finals map award, then turning around talkin bout we need to acknowledge Jordan had teamates:scust:

I mean, has anybody ever called Jordan consistently whiny/didn't want to compete when it came to anything basketball/personal? Maybe they did, but "Jordan's ghost" has a reputation for being ruthless/merciless and people won't remember/doubt that.

The same narrative that Kenny and Charles were saying when talking about KD joining Golden State, was nearly the same narrative they had when talking about Lebron to Miami and even Lebron to Cleveland when he first joined with Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. Those are the points that stick.

The "not wanting to compete" and taking the path of least resistance isn't really a new point when it comes to Lebron. It possibly may be hitting it's peak right now, and it's the culmination of everything in the past. That's why people can't/don't want to see past it, because the reputation is already there. Again, whether it's true or not, don't know but it made it's mark.
