This wasn't going to last forever, so a lot of people got a nice, extended vacation courtesy of the government. If people were smart, they would have jumped in the job market when those companies were facing huge shortages. Cats at some companies got a quick upgrade to management since there were so few candidates. Now, once all of this ends and everyone is rushing back into the market, companies will be able to apply downward pressure on salary due to so many competing for the same few positions.

This wasn’t well thought out. It’s alotta variables that willl create issues. One of them being Delta fukkin nikkas over and another is that people are uncomfortable being all in peoples face now. Especially for low pay.

A lot of states are sitting on a warchest of unused COVID-19 funds that have yet to be used and that's on top of their budget surplus turning out better than expected. Allocate that money towards the unemployment instead of wanting to use it to fix years long budget issues that happened prior to the pandemic.

It's a perpetual black hole. The low taxation policies are killing municipalities and putting strain on state government.
