No disrespect, but why are you taking it personal? I could see if you were buddy buddy with these people, but if you already deal with them with suspicion, then it should not surprise you that they are not reliable and dependable.

You go to work to sustain yourself, first and foremost! You don't go to work to socialize, party and bullshyt. For the record, I understand the need to have a civil working relationship where politicking is necessary in order to peacefully co-exist with people in the workplace, however, I know to not expect too much from people at work. It is a competitive environment where people can be cut throat.

Develop a thicker skin, pick and choose your battles wisely and be sure to handle your work business. Doing that will make your work life much easier.

It's all gucci!! I understand how you feel. I work and deal with all kinds of people. I gotta politic in order to keep the peace due to the nature of my profession, but I also know that the relationships I have with my co-workers comes with limitations.

I can't expect them to deal with me on their lunch breaks or before/after work. I can't take it personal because they are not my homies! Well, some I consider to be work homies, but even then, when people are on their own time, then they are going to do their own thing. If they want to hang out with me on their own time, then great. If not, then cool.

At the end of the day, my focus and priority is to get on payroll and make $$! Everything else is a bonus. You will be alright. Just keep your priorities in tact and you will be straight! Btw, thanks for the daps and rep!

I normally bring my lunch cuz I don't wanna use that extra 30 min to 1 hr to eat so I have to stay an extra hr to total 8+ hrs. I do think we should eat lunch with coworkers once in a while....but again I say ONCE IN A WHILE. U have to show some friendliness and professionalism to coworkers and get to know them on a professional level. U don't wanna be that employee who is a loaner or doesn't interact with coworkers. But u also don't wanna eat out too much with coworkers cuz some cacs don't wanna see blacks with too much money and stuntin too much. An older frat bro told me....we cant do everything that the white folks do and be driving expensive cars to work. Eating out too much is a luxury and u don't wanna be seen always splurging.

I dunno...I think back to my mom and how tight she was with her coworkers at Jacobi Hospital and how they all hung out at work and outside of work. Shoot, one of her coworkers/friends was almost my first sexual experience. They were like cousins most of the time...they came around that much and if they didnt, my mom took us to visit with them. Hell, one of my moms coworkers sons was a tenant of hers for over 15 years!!

Now I go to work and deal with this "Perfect Strangers" bullshyt and I'm just like...wondering where I fukked up??
