I have no problem with someone telling me hey I don't feel like doing something anymore cuz I been there but if you just straight up not say shyt up until the time? fukk outta here. I understand what u saying. Just cuz ur mom was tight with her coworkers doesn't mean u gonna be tight with urs. U gotta factor in the differences like her work environment, how much they interact, if there any age differences, their personalities, work stress, etc. Ur mom's work environment may have been conducive to fostering good friendships and work relationships. Ur work environment may not be the same. I think working in a hospital...u have to engage more with ur coworkers. Plus u working with older folks of different races who aren't reliable. I understand that u want friends...I feel u. But work isn't always the best place to meet best friends....sometimes u can but not all the times. But I would engage in coworker lunches and happy hours once in a while...just not regularly. Also, if u go to a happy hour...don't consume any more than 2 drinks. Some would say only have 1 drink but I would say don't do over 2 drinks and don't go over ur limit. U don't wanna be known as the employee who has a drinking problem.

That's exactly it....my moms coworkers were the same age.
I'm anywhere between 20-30 years younger than my coworkers. They all see me as some technological wizard young whippersnapper and say those things too!
That's what's missing. I don't have anyone there my age that I can be friendly with. Well, besides that one vixen chick...and she's bad news.

Thanks for the advice breh, I'll keep this in mind if I ever get invited to another happy hour. I turned down the first one I was invited to...and never got invited again. But honestly, it was a group of cacs and I just didn't feel like it would be comfortable.

See!! That's exactly how I feel! If they would have told me they weren't gonna go even 2-3 hours before the time I would have been fine. But now, this trick waits until 20 minutes before we're supposed to head over there to tell me she isn't gonna go because of a damn parking lot and entry fee.

Dude knows I don't eat pork or red meat, but then goes on to ask me if I'm cool with just taking the sausage out of some some italian shyt he's ordering cause it also has chicken in it. Then he's like "oh I know you don't eat pork or beef, but do you eat pepperoni?"

I'm like nah man I'm good order whatever you want, if I come through I'll eat before I come.

I didn't even go to his crib, I went to my other man's crib he had just ordered three pizzas, one with meat toppings, one plain, and one with veg toppings... and he had weed and liquor on deck, which I also brought anyway.

I don't understand some people though, learn how to be a good host before asking people to come through.
