Dylan Harper is your prototypical 6'5" guard and he's been sidelined for a couple of weeks with a calf strain. Ja 6'2" and he just strained his. All this " body type" talk in this thread and nikkas of all shapes and sizes are dropping like flies with soft tissue injuries. The way the game is being played today is too taxing.

DUUVALLLL
This sucks. He's the most exciting player ever to watch. I feel like injuries like this come from his ass playing like a guard. I think he'll need to settle down low if he wants to extend his career. He is such an insane player.

Strongest case for altering 3 point volume, would solve the load management issue at it's core. Seems like Silver would rather keep his head in the sand on it and pass the buck to the next commish than be the one to take the radical approach.

I'll be the old man yelling at the clouds but I don't think guys are conditioned properly nor or they toughening up their bodies for the grind. Everything now is in the name of preventative care and doing less.

Your hands won't get tough holding pearls but they will if you're moving rocks.

Everyone bytched about Thibs but the Knicks were incredibly durable last season. OG played the most games of his career; Josh Hart became an ironman under Thibs; KAT played most of their games. Now, OG and Brunson are already injured.

SGA and Ant rarely miss games. Jaden McDaniels is always available; Jokic, Gobert and Sengun don't suffer major injuries. Harden's looked flabby for 15 years but he never suffers major injuries. Zubac and Dillon Brooks don't miss many games. What are these guys doing differently than the rest?

This game is too intense nowadays.
Either that, or people sit out as soon as they feel the slightest discomfort. Or a bit of both.

Back in the days mad guys played 80 game per year 6 years in a row then started to fall off and have serious injuries all the time
Too much wear. Overuse injuries.

Growing up, brehs would play football/wrestling in fall, basketball or soccer in winter and track or baseball in spring. Gen Z athletes specialize too early. Plus side is they seem more polished at an earlier age....but their bodies are more worn down. And these dudes live clean.

Compare to guys like MJ who played 80 games a year, fukking all kinds of pawgs, drinking, smoking and gambling all night. These young guys read books, play Call of Duty, smoke weed, sleep 10 hours/night AND STILL need load management.

I wish for the best
but them lil chicken legs :francis:
It's a weird paradox for guys like him.

Staying lean can make him more injury prone. Gaining weight and mass can make him stronger...but the extra weight can also add wear & tear.

He needs to bulk up to the level of Giannis. At Wemby's height, 7'5".....dude needs to get to about 270 lbs, currently 235 lbs. 300 lbs, would change his game too much, but he needs mass. Builds bone strength and density.

Ok,

How do you alter 3 point shooting volume?
That's the thing. The people who don't like this shooting haven't been able to articulate a plan to disincentivize it.
