Vice president as an office doesn't have power unless the President wills it to be. But she is far more powerful in this role than what she was doing before. VPs can get book and speaking fees afterwards.

Vice president is useful for running for president but not always.

Question for the people who keep bringing up the point that the VP only has much power as the President let's them have.

Why would Biden give Harris any power or attention after she literally threw under the bus during primaries just to make herself look good? He obviously didn't want her as VP and only picked her because the Kloubuchar fell through. Not to mention the fact that even her own camp and circle didn't like her like that, then why would Biden want to do her a favor or have anything to do with her?

Her popularity is being dragged down by Biden. I don’t think she gains anything by being a face for his admin right now.

Also we’re being a little hard on her. Pence spent 4 years watching Netflix and playing words with friends.

Only problem with that notion is that she was unpopular even before she became Biden's VP pick. It speaks volumes about a person when their circle or camp doesn't even like them.
