Such an odd feeling when you watch the anime adaptation of a manga you dropped years ago and truly enjoy it.

I guess I just wasn't old enough to appreciate Re:Life at that point in time.

Now I gotta go back and read the whole thing to see what was left out

Am I the only one that feels like the Chainsawman hype train went into full speed too early?
I feel like it's by FAR its the most stanned anime on twitter/youtube/etc. but it could just be my feed. I LIKE what I've seen so far (I think the first episode in particular was well executed to draw me in, give me a rundown of the situation, make me care for the main character's struggle, etc.) but people are stanning this show like its at the climax :dahell: Imagine if people were treating the first 4 episodes of YYH like it's Chapter Blacc, the first 4 HxH episodes like its the Chimera Ant arc, the first 4 one piece episodes like it's marineford, etc.

Am I out of touch for at least waiting for the show to cook? :usure:

I'm guessing its mostly manga readers who are getting over-excited because they've been reading it for a long time so they know whats up.

One thing we learned from the TYBW arc is to listen to the OG, Mayuri. So ya'll just going to use your Bankais before his research analysis is complete? lol

Mayuri has had a rough 24 hours; yelling at Genryusai for not killing this nikka Yhwach a long time ago, ordering the execution of entire sections of the Soul Society, and now some of his fellow Captains getting their pockets ran before he could finish his download on Kazaa. :mjlol:

Show has been fun, but yea the amount of hype it had was just stupid. In CSM's case it would need to have 9.5/10 + for every episode to live up to the hype. Which isn't reasonable. Every show gonna need time to set shyt up.

Source readers in anime can be weird to interact with. You got some like this thread that are super chill. Then you got some others if you skipped or rushed a panel they lose their shyt, let alone a chapter. Or hell if the anime gives us a high quality filler episode like SxF did in ep 4 they get pissed off why did they bother with it.

the manga was already really popular with about 100 series written. Folks were just waiting desperately on the anime to drop

Even an intern at my job was tryna put me on :ehh:

there's a lot of popular mid mangas too though
manga is becoming a giant right now in terms of japanese animation in the west Manga books sales growth U.S. 2021 | Statista.

Even with joints like Justsu-Kaisen, Berserk or SpyxFamily a lot of fans are reading and then going straight to the adaption once Viz or anyone can make it.

Its kinda like DC or MCU experience for consumers but in reverse (wait for film announcements-read the comics-wait for the film) as oppose to read-wait-watch for anime and manga

exactly because its a growing industry is why some shyt floats to the top when it otherwise would've never seen that type of success any other time

yeah i think thats just the transition for the industry at this point

Im assuming because usually anime production cuts down a lot of plot and storyline from the original manga and it prob loses its integrity.

one of my homies even transitioned away from straight up watching anime when it releases and is now a manga snob. Problem is now LOTS of nikkas are becoming snobs now and ngl its mad annoying :francis:

not in CSM's case. shyt most adaptations are better than ever now if anything and add more these days.... authors and creators are right alongside the process (unless it blows up in everyone's face like promised neverland or something). the non-canon parts of MHA have been better than the real thing between seasons 2 and this current season too.

and these new manga reader snobs don't measure up to the old ones at all either :mjlol: they try - but they'll never be on the level of the a$$holes telling you how soft yugioh TV is compared to the original material. they wouldn't even let you enjoy hunger games or something tangentially related to a japanese work
