Reincarnated as a Sword does a really good job balancing out the wholesome moments to the dark ones. It makes each of them standout when the shift is focused.

:damn: Mob doesn't miss :wow:

God damn. This episode hit like a truck. First you get oh Dimple is just giving tf. Mob would never just end this lame right? :patrice:

Then you see all the Pyscho Helmet's attack Dimple protecting Mob and you are just realizing shyt is about to go down. :damn: But then Dimple's goodbye to Mob, god damn that really caught me in the feels. God damn what an amazing episode. :mjcry:

Shinobi and Reincarnated as a Sword had the mid ass cooking vibe episodes, but Mob came through and crushed the buildings with that action.

That shyt had season 2 finale energy.

Do disagree with sword it transitioned off the action from the previous episode to set things up for next episode with that blue cat that looks like wolf from Star Fox.

Cooking was pure SoL stuff. Either you into that or you ain’t. Ain’t too much more then that. But the rest of the episode was great imo.

Idk to me the direction and writing of Shinobi has been wack. Last 3 episodes have been better but the show would have been better if these were the first 3 episodes.

I mean those episodes weren't bad fam. Just average. I don't regret watching them or anything. Just they weren't as popping as the previous ones, which is cool. It happens. So please don't take it as me shytting on them. Sword been so good, its earned a chill episode lol.

Shinobi doesn't seem like it has any direction. Like it keeps teasing at a bunch of cool shyt, but can't decide on which cool shyt it wants to expand upon and progress the story. I'm still waiting for it to hit its real stride, but that might not even happen.

Been getting into sports anime lately. Mostly cause they don’t require a lot of investment and attention span so I can watch them while I’m working

Blue Lock completely ruined Aoashi for me. It’s so much better

Go ahead and watch the GOAT sports anime Slam Dunk, breh.

Finished all 73 episodes of Fruits Basket remake + the movie. This was the kind of experience that makes me appreciate what anime has to offer when the effort and direction is there. It adapted the source material almost panel by panel, just as I remembered it, and delivered a sincere message about processing trauma that can be appreciated by anyone.

There were about 20 notable characters in this show. Every single one was given a backstory, development, and a chance to narrate the story from their perspective. All of them had in common struggles with past instances of abuse, neglect or grief that made it difficult for them to move forward in life, and a lot of the anime is spent working through those issues with the help of others. The emotional pay off once they do face their problems head on and break the (literal) curse hanging over their lives is cathartic to watch, as there's so much internal suffering happening to likable personalities throughout this show. and it gets....really ugly, before getting any better.

I thought the two predominant themes were - it's difficult, if not impossible, to sincerely love another if you loathe yourself. That forgiveness is necessary to move forward, as hard as that may be, but some things are so vile that not everyone is able to ever let go of how they were wronged. Both themes were developed well throughout.

Pretty easily a 10/10, top 5 anime kind of thing for me. Best of its genre.

best op/ed -

2021 in anime for me had MT, 86 & Fruit baskets as the best shows BY FAR.

You basically touched on any point I would make. The romance is well written and it is a 10/10 drama show with so many well written characters. I have no idea if S3 was rushed cause it was the only 1 cour season and I haven’t read the manga.

Anyone not giving it a chance because it’s a shoujo and/or romance is doing them a disservice.

I feel you on that. Cause you know how people here be calling shows and series mid and shyt has no consistent meaning. (Some saying it to call something garbage and while others including me using it to indicate average like you did above. )
