Seeing the old Gotei 13 was a cool moment. I don't remember that flashback being in the manga, Kubo illustrated that just for the anime it seems.

I've never met a yu yu hakusho fan that didn't enjoy Hunter X Hunter. I prefer the OG series, but most people seem to prefer Hunter X Hunter and I think it's got the best single arc out of either series.
There's a reason why Yama always treated the current generation like children, you realize that looking at what he came from. A squad of straight up killers but they're wartime specialists so they probably lacked character depth outside the battlefield.
