It's quantity over quality this season.
Tomo-Chan is a really good rom-com. Also The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady might be worth a look, tho if you are not a fan of yuri, iseaki or a genki protaginist this is a skip. Still how magic works in their world is interesting to me. Very impressive production imo.
Also
@twan83 is the homie here, but Angel Next Door is taking wish fullfillment to a ridiculous degree. Author knew what he was doing aiming this to be a Light Novel with that audience rather then a manga one.
Besides that all the good budget stuff new seasonal is mid and trash. Still there’s bound to be something that someone will like that is really under the radar:
- High card is a fun show. Animation ain’t the best but it makes great use of it.
- Giant Beasts of Ars is one of those shows that is a slow burn that has a very interesting. Also the party has a fun dynamic with each other like a FF or Tales JRPG party.
- Buddy Daddies is pretty fun. Tho Miri really acts like a 4 year old. Kind of surprised this has been more under the radar considering the success of SxF and it has more action initially then that show.
- The Fire Hunter is basically a very promise world and premise. But you can tell its a passion project, but with a limited budget. When it just focuses on world building and story I think its great. But the few moments with action looks awful. If you know Japanese reading the novel would be a better idea tho that would be for minor amount of people here.
- The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague, a Joseei rom-com with an adult cast that acts like adults. It ends up being dry, but it's not like a typical adult's day is super exciting.
- The Tale of Outcasts offers a super likable protagonist and a world of demon and what there relationship with Humans is at least interesting.
