I didn't peep but Ghostblade smoked lil Johnny's real dad in the montage of his kills last episode :ohhh: this episode they chilling and neither of them know that's how it went down, this is probably why we see big Johnny go monster mode at the end of Queen's arc, he finds out with all that Fear energy floating in the air

Maaaaaan this is top tier writing :wow:i had favorites going into this but every hero is so on point, if dragonboy and Ahu have dope back stories they officially went 10 outta 10 with these introductions

The stan wars online next season when that tournament arc starts gonna be crazy :whew:

Started watching To be Hero X due to @Bryan Danielson review since we have similar taste in Anime.

I'm rewatching Kekkai Sensen since the animation was really good for that show and comparing it to "Hero X". Only watching Hero X for the animation honestly.

Yea… I thought I was gonna love TBAHX or at least I wanted to love it….. but I thought it’s been decent at best…

Its definitely beautiful visually and is absolutely unique.

But something about it ain’t been hitting right

I don’t think it’s bad show by any means but not living up to the hype to me

Ghostablade's arc was one of the best in TBH X :wow:

@T-K-G is the show supposed to be so coy about everything or am I missing some source material lore from somewhere? I sometimes feel like the show is aimed for people that know shyt I don't :heh: but maybe it's just the way they designed the narrative :patrice:

No source material outside of the PV's and whatever info is on the website, story is original

They just do a good job of putting visual shyt in there alongside the plot that the fanbase got used to analyzing the scenes, gotta remember this is the same guy who made Link/Click

Like the flower in Blades car, Johnny said they grew around his house he grew up in

In the flashback on Ghostblade assassinations you see him kill a guy in a field of those flowers, it's super low-key

That whole bonding moment between them had that added layer of neither of them knowing his dad is dead cuz of Ghostblade

The narrative this whole season is just backstory anyways so it's all just starting to connect forreal now, no fans knows shyt about what's happening present day in this

Got it. I felt I might've missed something because I've been reading some comments in some episodes (not all of them) and some fans kinda have a lot more knowledge on characters. Like I read a couple of people being surprised at the order some of the heroes have been introduced and I'm like ":dwillhuh: how do they know what "should" be the order anyways" :pachaha:

They put out an episode order list ages ago, I posted it in here once or twice

People originally thought they would feature the "next hero" at the end of the arc, like how we saw E soul right at the end of the Nice arc, then it went to e souls arc, which ended at the Lucky Cyan concert, then we jumped to her.

So that may be why some people were confused, we saw Johnnie's featured heavy in Queen's arc but then jumped to Loli and Gblade, threw some people off if they never looked at the episode list.

After this Johnny arc we go to the Hero Tower for an ep and then finish the rest of the cast, with a "???" episode in there that no one knows about.

Ngl this kind of transparency is refreshing, the whole rollout for this show was some shyt I never seen before :ehh:

:ohhh: so basically I assumed there was some source material instead of going Occam's razor and realizing a show shrouded in slow reveals and non-chronological storytelling would have the fanbase going OD with theories trying to anticipate and fill in the blanks :bryan:
Yea the main thing is when they show the "years since" the hero shyt was established, right now they 39 years in with Ghostblade arc, fear just got discovered etc.

I prefer keeping track with when X learns how to turn the world 3d

They still gotta show us what caused Nice to commit that, they said the "Smile incident" started it, Smile was the dude Bowa fought during the Queen arc, the old number 1

I'm assuming Nice murked him against his will

And maybe a flashback of when Old e soul became number 1, cuz he killed some guy named Zero who used to be number 1 as well, that's where he lost his arm doing the lightning blade shyt. New e soul talked about it but you only see it in the PV

Watch the PV's if you can :yeshrug: only 90 seconds for each character but they show some stuff that only got referenced

that makes a lot of sense.
Trailers are the only reason everyone knows what X can do  the OG trailer shows how X and Ahu met too

I like how this style gets you hype for characters way before you see em, ghostblade only had a 2-pack backstory and people were itching for it to drop for a while, I been waiting on dragon boy to descend since this shyt started, the promotion team killed this shyt

it's not the same as reading the source material and patiently waiting for anime onlys to catch up

Hanako-kun S2 Episode 15 adapted chapters 64+65. They did a good job adapting chapter 65 here. Putting it at the beginning & end leaves 64 to be in the middle of the episode. It flowed really well.

Kou & Mistuba's dynamic is always fun to watch. Though Hanako's words have really stuck to Kou. Kou really wants to help, but he needs to actually figure out a solution before talking a big game.

The whole scene with the gang meeting Aoi is interesting because it is clear that Hanako didn't trust Aoi. Of course he didn't wanted to upset Nene so he played things more straight. Of course this led to him & Nene falling in the pit.

However, the one we did not expect to also not trust Aoi was Akane. Although they are childhood friends he would know that something is up. The more focus on Akane the more we see he isn't completely what we think he is basically. Though what does Aoi mean by removing the useless clutter? One thing is clear: Aoi doesn't love the side of her that Nene admires ironically. But Akane's willingness to go down with Aoi really leaves an impression.

I just started this series and even though (4 eps in) I'm not that compelled by the story, I gotta say the voice actor for Hanako gotta be the fukking GOAT, I'm always amazed she pulled off Shinji Ikari and then can do completely different characters. In the case of Hanako, it's really staggering how different that character feels if you put pretty much any other voice actor doing that role.

English dubs have gotten a lot better, but with seiyuus like Megumi Ogata, you really see the difference. Hell with Dandadan you see it with Jiji & Evil Eye. :wow:

I would note that Hanako-kun is more of a slow-burn supernatural mystery. It starts a bit comedic and gradually becomes darker and even dives into psychological horror at times. The mystery of Hanako and the reveal regarding Nene are the big story elements in the series as the arcs with the school mysteries occur. I guess your enjoyment will depend on what you think of Hanako & Nene.
