Having binged Kaiju n.8 current season...I should've waited till the whole thing was finished because the show is good enough to keep me watching but not good enough to watching it weekly in small spurts :pachaha:
This is where I'm at with Gachiakuta, I wanted binge it and Kaiju at the end of the season but I wasn't expecting so many shows to:

1. all have the same fantasy medieval world backdrop

2. Be focused on some high school level romance

Also feels like a LOT of shows were in their first season and they all use the same set-ups :russell:

I tossed all the shows like that in the bushes this season :camby: might double back to them on a slow year if their 2nd/3rd seasons are worth it.

Neither Gachiakuta or Kaiju have plots that interest me rn but they got enough going on to be considered upper-level mids :ehh: I wasn't a big fan of Sakamoto first season but this second one is doing a better job of balancing the goofy shyt with the serious shyt, animation better too.

Yaiba going on for far too long being goofy, coulda split that into two cours :camby:

Summer Hikaru Died as well, it's dragging the tension too much :camby:

Tougen Anki just feels like a bunch of shows I've already seen before put into an AI story generator

I had to dig and find older shows I missed to fill in the void, luckily China had a way bigger vault of old piff than I expected.

Yeah after that first episode I decided I was gonna wait till the whole season was over to give Gachiakuta a real chance, that was a really bad premiere :heh:

I really like Kaiju's premise and whole setting but whoever writes the manga just isn't that good of a storyteller. I read a comment somewhere saying the series is "aggressively ok" and that's a perfect way of describing it.

I actually dropped Sakamoto after ep 7 or 8 of season 1 and picked it back up last week so I could catch up to the current season. I agree it's gotten better this new cour but I'm still waiting for all the hype the series had to be shown in anime form. To me, it's still a lesser SpyxFamily type of "comedic Slice of Life meets *genre*". Sakamoto it relies more heavily on the action while SxF relies way more in comedy and the latter a better job at that than Sakomoto does with its action. Plot wise the series is too meh for me and there's not enough there character wise for to me engage fully -to keep the comp going, all three characters in SxF are way more engaging than anyone in SD-, and the most interesting thing I've seen all series was the old dude with the katana fukking shyt up :wow: and he already gone :francis:

These shows all had a chance to prove themselves to be in that upper tier but they not :manny: it's crazy to see animes get power scaled in real time like this :mjlol:

Chainsaw about to drop their biggest fanboy arc in movie form then follow it up with the craziest arc of part 1

Jobless Reincarnation bouta go on a ridiculous run :wow:

We know where JJK is going and that's still gonna be way more entertaining than what these other shounen gave us

Fire Force coming back aggressive

Frieren gonna descend

My main problem is a lot of the piff is gonna come out later next year, the rest of THIS year is looking to be rough :mjcry:if I wasn't reading Lord of Mysteries i'd be in shambles right now

Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō - Episode 20

I got a lot of respect for Naotsugu for coming back to face Jinya. After all, yes, the demon part is scary, but to throw away that friendship for that would also feel wrong on his part. One of the themes in this series is that one might be a demon, but that doesn't imply they are a monster. Hell, we have seen at times humans as bigger monsters than demons at times. Yasuhide might be another example of that.

I think the experience with Natsu did a number on Jinya, but Ofuu is as much a demon as Jinya. Also, Nomari is so young that she can't comprehend that demons are seen as bad. Demons aren't scary for her, but rather losing her father is what is scary for her. The whole conflict Jinya feels still carries a burden, but he needs to be reminded of the lesson the old man tried to give him. Also, Ofuu's mention of making the right choice in life won't lead to an ideal outcome. There will be things that we don't like that come from it. For instance, him defending Naotsugu while going into his demon form. Though even if he's struggling with what he wants to do with Suzune, there are people that truly care for him, and he shouldn't forget that.

Tsuchiara's backstory seems interesting. Being called a demon, did they know for a fact he was a demon? He was also associated with that blacksmith who created the swords. Also, I think we can safely assume that woman died in some way. Though why does he work for a man like Yasuhide?

Yeah, next season looks :trash: for the most part. Which isn't the worst thing considering how packed this season is, even if it got overrated to an extent.

SxF, Sanda (off the strength of Science Saru) & Wandance are really the only ones I am excited about going in.
