Next season is fine if you like comedies and romcoms. Sucks if you like shounen.

Chitose and ImoUza are both entertaining romcom light novels. Ranma is back. Grieving Soul was solid and is back. There's long running stuff like OPM, My Hero, Spy Family, Kingdom.

Next season is the epitome of "wait till it's over and binge what's worth a damn" :pachaha:
nikka next season is "lemme watch live action/read books/game instead" :mjlol: this thread about to come to a full stop for the next few months

not watching a bunch of horny japanese jokes or highschool kids blushing at one another for weeks on end

MHA is approaching the end arc that everyone hated/roasted for being rushed, might tune in for that laughs

Kingdom is some peak stuff, but I can't lie; coming back to it after a long time off will hurt. It's the perfect anime to binge. Only wishes S1 didn't look so ass for so much of it. :mjlol: At least S2 is tolerable to look at. Once the visuals get smoothed out in S3, it is just :wow:

Wandance is def one that I do think many people will like as a coming-of-age dance series. Even though the sound director looks good, I am just wondering how they will incorporate all the different hip-hop, house & other stuff they dance to in the manga. They definitely aren't using the big names songs that they are supposedly dancing to in the manga.

You know I amazed I stuck with it as long as I did as anime only. Considering how fukking awful S5 was. S1-S3 was good. S4 was weird, but it was ok. S5 was fukking :trash:. They really took time out of the season to set up a non-canon movie :dead: with all of these classmates we don't give a fukk about. S6 was dope and definitely one of the better seasons. S7 was just weird; there was good shyt.

But my god, the whole Uraraka & Toga shyt was like. :why:

I know battle shounens don't have the best writing, but this was insulting low-level garbage writing from Hori just to get Uraraka to forgive Toga. No, there is no deep reason she killed those people. She is simply a psychotic killer. Just kill her and society be better for it.

Tbh if I were watching MHA for the first time again, I don't think I could make it past S5.

Watched Ponyo in theaters. It was very enjoyable. You can definitely tell it is influenced by The Little Mermaid. It's a very heartwarming film. I thought it was going to take a dark turn when the mom and the others were underwater, symbolizing death maybe. Though it makes sense with the theme of the film to keep it more lighthearted.

I really like how they characterized both the mom Lisa & Fujimoto, Ponyo's dad. Fujimoto symbolized the typical overprotective father figure, but it's funny how early on he feels more antagonistic. While Lisa was a caring mother, there is a bit of influence she has on Ponyo as the film continues.

Much like My Neighbor Totoro & Kiki's Delivery Service it serves as a good family movie. Though I do prefer Ponyo & Kiki better than Totoro since that one lacks characterization and there isn't much for adults in that one unlike the other two.

I should've kept Clair Obscur in the backburner for september. What a fukking game :wow: would've kept me fed the whole month.

October we got Ghost of Yotei though :whew:

But yeah, I think I'ma finally start reading some stuff. Might even start CSM part 2 (finally) as well.

Maaaan, tell me about it. Romance and SoL are the only show I can watch with my girl weekly (she only watches dope shows when they are done, she can't stand waiting years for a new season or weekly viewing) and the amount of complete garbage I've had to sit through this year has been :why:

This season was actually a huge step up, the Flagrant Flower shyt is one of the most safe shows I've ever seen but it's so different from the usual bullshyt these romance do that it makes it worth sitting through it. And Dress Up Darling is refreshing for having a male MC that's worth a fukk and not a complete wimp, plus the animation is crazy good.

But breh, the previous two seasons were hilariously bad, I ruined a bunch of shows for her just by cracking jokes at how fukking awful/stupid they were :mjlol: I would've loved to that with Takopi as well but she didn't wanna watch it :mjcry:

I'm convinced Miyazaki can't make a bad movie. The Boy and the Heron is not his best effort (felt kinda safe/samey) but still, entering his worlds/stories for 90-120 minutes is always :ahh:

Yes it was really good. It’s interesting because it’s good though it’s very dense with its storytelling. It definitely requires a certain mindset when watching. As it’s very thematic & symbolic.

Definitely need to give it a rewatch one of these days since there things that were lost on me on a first watch. It’s one of those that was written for an older audience in mind, which is good to see.

Speaking of anime films Hosoda got a film coming out next later this year makes sense why they pushing 4K versions of his older stuff this year in theaters.

MHA was still a big enough story that when shyt got crazy I would see the rumblings of it on Twitter and tap back in

But yea the author sold them early, atleast it bounced back a few times before the end. You had other authors completely fold the second they fumbled an arc :mjlol:
