Why do I feel like that is taking a shot at the players for the game.

The manga sold well enough and is big in japan.

Though it feels like the hype of this series has died compared to S1, I don't see anyone talking about it. Even shounen heads. They're more interested in Dandadan & Gachiakuta this season.

But yeah, it's the definition of generic Shounen.

The protagonist being older doesn't even mean much now, which was a selling point in the series. Tbh probably just there to bring in older fans.

Kaiju No. 8 is a ok series, but Crunchyroll fukked up the bag by promoting it as a big event. They need to let big events happen organically if they want to do a Worldwide Stream at the same time. Like Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan.
