Regarding Kijin Gentōshō - Episode 21
Ignoring the production quality to mention the contents of the episode itself, I thought it was great. Sadly, the unacceptable production visuals are affecting enjoyment. The actual storytelling was 10/10, like many of the episodes before.
Tsuchiura's whole backstory is a reminder that the real demons may be humans at times. You can understand why he felt betrayed, which led to him killing her. But the moment he looked at her dying eyes, he realized he was wrong and he loved her. Then her parents mention how their family was forced to do that, which makes the feeling even worse. Sadly, the fight, which could have a big impact, was a mess due to how low-budget it is. As Jinya embraces his weakness, should make it one of the biggest moments from this season.
It's difficult to make sense of the Yasuhide scene where Jinya kills him. Basically his death would do more than him being alive, if I understand correctly. Though it does feel more of an ideal for himself for defending the shogunate.
Jinya should know better than leaving without Nomari. But sad that Jinya & Ofuu going their separate ways. Jinya with rumors spreading of being demon would need to leave. Though I understand Ofuu not wanting to be dependent on Jinya. It’s sad she is alone but I am happy she has the resolve to push forward. Her time with her adoptive father & Jinya will push her forward I believe.
I recognize Natsu before the focus shifted to her. Given the timeskip where Nomari has grown it’s to be expected the same for Natsu. She has mellowed down and seems to be partnered to Zenjji. I am happy she recognized Jinya and now she realizes what she did to push him away. I do hope both Natsu & Ofuu meet Jinya again.
