I'll not go neg crazy (as deserved as they may be) and educate what I'm sure are a bunch of young nikkas saying BIG. BIG was already a superstar and about to have the rocket on his back before LAD came out. Ready To Die was easily the most popular East Coast album despite the sales. Between that, the guest verses, the side projects, TV appearances (his Martin ep is classic) Kim and Junior Mafia, he really had a MOVEMENT. Not like weak corny nikkas be claiming. You had to be there to fully grasp it. LAD was going to be huge either way. He also destroyed Victory, so his momentum wasn't slowing down any time soon. He was truly one of the most talented artists to ever live. He had the game in a headlock.

And Sean Price singlehandedly resurrected Boot Camp/Duck Down, and the NYC underground to a degree. Don't disrespect P.

xxx was receiving praise from guys like kendrick and cole while he was alive. his back n forth w/ drake was a widely covered news story. even had a noticeable following of dudes on here. ive never listened to 1 project from the guy but i knew he was becoming a big deal.

Biggie was indeed a superstar but purist wasn't really feeling his style. His R&B infused hits, then suddenly he becomes the undisputed GOAT? Nah, nikka.

Nikkas really got the audacity to say Biggie.:martin:

Biggie was already elite while alive & was the premiere rapper of the east coast on arguably the biggest label at the time.

The real is answer was Big L since his death left no major impact on the game, but people talk about him as if he was the cream of the crop.
