Another thing I always wondered about is the big bang theory. It is believed that the universe started from one point then in a moment there was a reaction that caused it to expand into what it is today. But since the universe started from a single point, what did that single point exist within?

:mindblown: :mindblown: :mindblown: :mindblown::mindblown:

It's only in reference to this observable universe. There might be multiple universes out there, and some speculate that there exists a Big Bang on the other side of every "black hole" and ours was no different. There are other hypothesis out there too.

Either way, religious or not, the question you posed is the ULTIMATE question in existence. Doesn't matter if you believe a God did it or not, it comes down to a "chicken or the egg" conundrum. I've spent hours thinking about it, and I'm sure men much, much smarter than all of us here, from all backgrounds, have done the same. I think the answer to this question may never be solvable, but the answer will always be the goal of every cognitive species that exists.

I always used to look up in the sky and think about how little I am and how far I am from other things in the universe. Like if I could jump all the way up beyond the atmosphere, Earth, and kept going up, what would I see? :dwillhuh:

There's this dope ass interactive flash animation that shows the scale of the universe in comparison to everyday objects, planets and stars. It's pretty dope check it out yall

here it is http://htwins.net/scale2/

The beginning of the universe marks the actual beginning of time i.e. there was no time-space paradigm before the universe existed.

That being said, what had existed before essentially was nothing in the most absolute form. No color, no time, no space, nothing.

But how can SOMETHING come out of NOTHING? :mindblown:

This thread just made me think something :ohhh: Earth wasn't really the beginning of everything, so that means there was possibly nikkas 20,000 years ago that were already advanced by the time Earth became populated by humans. :wow:

20,000? Try Billions. Human beings have been around for at the most 300,000-500,000 years.

There might be civilizations out there that have already discovered the keys to existence. For all we know, our universe could be one of their computer simulations. We are their version of Sims.

Some force, God, a higher being, or whatever.:yeshrug:

Whatever created time and space (the universe), has to have existed outside of this paradigm. Meaning it had neither a beginning nor a space

I can agree that there is a God, IMO there has to be. But I still find most of organized religion ridiculous :manny:
