The 'Go
I personally believe there was 'nothingness' but then something (whether it was a higher power or not) happened and creation began.

The only thing that boggles my mind is, if there is a higher power/God where did it come from? Or was it always here? If not, how was it created? :patrice: Asking questions like this makes me believe something we wouldn't even begin to comprehend, let alone ever discover, happened before everything we know existed.

How could there be no time or color? It's unfathomable. Seems science is just as "faith-based" as belief in God.

On the topic of this question, it is all speculation and faith based. But beyond this question, post-Big Bang, science clearly defines most of our existence. Science is allowing me and you to communicate right now. It isn't magic.

Then science is incomplete and doesn't have all the answers. So how can scientists devalue people's faiths? :ohh:

Science will always be incomplete, and their will always be unanswered questions. You solve one question and might open up 100 more stemming from that. Science is a system of proof, nothing more and nothing less. It's supposed to be the closest system to objective knowledge of the universe.

Another thing I always wondered about is the big bang theory. It is believed that the universe started from one point then in a moment there was a reaction that caused it to expand into what it is today. But since the universe started from a single point, what did that single point exist within?

Do you know what "color" even is?

its just your eyes interpreting aspects of teh electromagnetic spectrum.

Birds can see more of that spectrum and bees can see other parts of that spectrum.

Are you fukking stupid?

Science never claimed to be complete.

AND

We can devalue other peoples faiths by testing to see if what they believe is true or can be demonstrated.

This shyt all seems so complicated and makes no sense. But I bet when we find the answer it will be so simple and ridiculous.

What gets me is there is probably some alien civilizations having a big ass galactic war right now... Tearing up solar systems and shyt. And here we are chilling by ourselves conducting struggle missions to Mars.

The right now portion at least seems within range of understand. If we take the hypothesis that there are multiple universes, and time is infinite, there might have existed civilizations eons upon eons ago who evolved over the course of billions/trillions (or more) years. They lived and died before this universe even existed. That shyt is insane to think about.

Great discussion that's less than a dozen posts away from being derailed by personal insults, pretentiousness, and a debate about religion. Damn shame.
