I'm friends with a (B list) rapper who has a day job now.

He never had a big pop hit but was well affiliated while he was being pushed, made a few albums, got some huge cosigns, did videos, had articles in XXL The source, toured supporting bigger acts. He just never caught on big, he still records sometimes, but he went back to college and works a quiet job.

Didn't make crazy $$ to stash, but traveled crazy and has stories that'll last him a lifetime from that 5-6 year run in the industry.
