I can't breh. Hoe logic to gossip. I respect the mans catalogue and he still is visible in the scene today. If I gave out any more clues than he ain't from Oakland and he ain't from the City, y'all will figure it out. Which already means I've said too much. DEUCES

I think some rappers, active or not, are just living a normal life.
We tend to have a very polarized (and inadequate) view of what a rapper's existence/career should be : either a Drake/Jay-z type of celebrity or a bum.
so i'm guessing they doing good... everyone is not a fukking idiot with money... as long as they invested enough, they should be able to sustain a stable lifestyle peppered with shows and features every once in a while
M.O.P makes money tearing down stages.
this
plus most rappers that bank off of ONE hit usually flip that money and move on to something else, rap is a hustle , get in get out
I disagree 100% with the bolded. Look at how many rock bands that barely had that much recognition or were on indies are still touring after 15+ years together. Rappers should be able to live off their crafts and should be given the respect they deserve. It shouldn't be a hustle.
Those that treat it as a hustle are the main ones neglecting the art. At the end of the day it's music.
Jeru is exactly who came to mind when I read the thread title lolThat's definitely fair. But they've done enough and made enough money that they're not out here hurting but I get your point.
Now someone like Jeru the Damaja probably had to get a regular job. Unfortunately.
