What is one topic in school that Americans should embrace to make them smarter?

I worry that this would lead to a dystopian future where white children and Asians are overwhelmingly sent to the STEM route, while black people are relegated to the arts or trade castes. :francis:

The blanket model of education gives everyone access to that stem info they may need in life.
You’re looking at it through a diluted lens. Owning the arts and trades sectors are just as valuable if we start our own businesses and control all cash flow from those societal needs.
A plumber or electrician has the same ability to make as much as a surgeon and work the same amount of hours and both work with their hands, 1 is just held in higher regard in society but the trade off is 15 years of additional higher education.

Quick Question for you, breh.

Why do you think this happens?

Everyone saying mathematics, maybe more practical math aimed at economics and finance.

More modern History and geography and how it is impacting today's world

Obviously COVID has shown us we need more science and a better vetting process for political appointees.

Because doctors directly save lives? Let a pipe burst in your house though and the plumber is just as important. Or a gas leak (which saves lives as well but it’s less common).

I have an BA and even I think if we want to continue to lead the world we need to put every able bodied child into STEM. The ones that falter separate them completely into arts schools centered around only that or trade schools if they are only good with their hands. Instead of a 1 size fits all school we need to break it up into 3 different very distinct pathways/schools.

We need more WORKER UNIONS instead of everyone being skilled at STEM, cause if everyone being skilled at STEM, then that skill would be worthless because everyone has it, similar to the logic that if everyone has a bachelor's degree, then that degree becomes worthless since every adult has it.

We need more worker unions.

But in terms of public school education, we need economics and how to correct the exploitation of labor. We need to end the assumption that INFLATION is not caused by PRICE GOUGING.

woodshop or like mechanical engineering or whatever you want to call it. Practical usage of tools. Building basic structures and building basic items. I feel like american schools taught us (even when i was in school) to be dependent on other people that have tools and equipment or whatever. Like you just learn employee shyt in school, not practical skills to make you independent.
