A lot of brehs I graduated with are going to trade school in a couples months.i would say more brehs are getting a trade than going to college.

But here’s the thing: a lot of black people aren’t exposed to trades when they are younger

The trade schools in Georgia would visit my school constantly and we had engineering classes with a great teacher.

It’s all about exposal imo, the more black youth exposed to it, the more will go.

When you speak to most carpenters, plumbers, electricians etc. someone in their family showed them the ropes from a young age.

The same applies to all professions.

When families get broken, kids lose that inspiration and knowledge is not passed on. It was done intentionally and the damage will take generations to undo.

:dahell: i know alot of black men that do skilled trades.

My grandfather was a blacksmith. I have a high school buddy who is Carpenter and does independent contracting.
I hired an electrician the other day and the dude who showed up was black. seem pretty common place to me.

I've made a thread on this a while back, but going to college is easily the biggest mistake I've ever made. Got nothing out of it except for a silly little piece of paper. I'm currently working at a job I could have gotten just as easily with a GED:stopitslime:

More men, not just blacks, need to look into trades. You can make a good living with one, and the cost of learning one is a fraction of what a college "education" costs.:ld:

Cost of learning is almost non existent if you go through a union Apprenticeship:manny:

Had to pay a couple hundred for union initiation fees, and for tools obviously and that’s the only outta pocket expenses I’ve occurred in my 2 years as a apprentice
i gotta keep getting in nikkas ears about trades.. it's such an easy way to the middle class
That’s the thing, nikkas nowadays see middle class as being broke:snoop:

Lot of nikkas will say 68k a year+ Union benefits ain’t enough :russ:

How long does it take to be a truck driver and how hard is it?

Aren't they automating those jobs soon?
truck driving is the biggest scam profession out there. People talk all about how they make 100K driving. They don't tell about how much of the trucking cost are also their responsibility. you'll spend 50K a year just the keep your truck on the road. Insurance :damn: repairs:damn:.
It aint like working at walmart where if you break something the company covers it and just fires or repremands you. One day could set you back for all the profit you made over the last 3 months.
