Absolutely

They pay you based on how many years you been in. For example you might be in a 5 year apprenticeship program, pay scale might look like this

Year 1: $21.44
Year 2: $27.06
Year 3: $33.74
Year 4: $37.06

Year 5- you top out at journeyman:$ 41.00

That’s why I tell nikkas not to go to trade school, just get into a union apprenticeship. They’ll teach you plus you’ll be earning some decent bread :obama:

Facts. Just got home week 1 is over. shyt is real. A lot of math.

This just the beginning I want the real money so I'm fully in it for the long haul.

It's really difficult for a "concious" black man to work in those field because it can get really hostile.

That being said, Its alot of Black men in the trades. You must not be in the south.

Gotta have thick skin you cannot be overly sensitive I can't stress that enough.

Well, from what I can tell, and I don't have official numbers...but ALOT of BM are in trades.

If you live in any inner city majority black neighborhood can can't walk straight without bumping into someone who's a plumber, carpenter/contractor, electrician, or IT guru of some sort

Many are not licensed and certified though.

If they were able to start learning them in high school maybe more would consider it. On the outside looking in I guess they automatically assume there is no money in it, but talking to people that do it made me wish I learned one when I was younger.

I just had my kitchen remodeled and the painters kept telling me how they do 1-2 jobs a week and freelance on the side. They said they done paid off their kids college and just spend their money traveling

Probably not. I've been terrible at math since elementary school ( 1st grade )

I was terrible at math in the first grade as well. Ended up going to college for physics and graduating cum laude.

It is more how you study that may be the problem and the mindset you have. I could give you some resources to help you study better if you want.

Personally, I think more Blacks should be in the sciences. :manny:

Yes please. I'm good in English and Science but Math has never clicked with me. I still remember my parents would force me to memorize multiplication tables all through elementary and middle school and I remember them for a week then forget.

Given what you said, order the book below today...

They give out specific strategies one could utilize to do well when it comes to education (chapter 8 is essential imo). All of it is based on studies, so no bullshyt opinions on what you can do to study more effectively.

The book came out after I graduated but the principles of it I learned freshman year and utilize to this day. Changed my whole way of learning. Really good book.
