BONE sold more records but they never transcended music. If you want to keep the conversation strictly music based I guess you can stop reading here.

BONE is a rap group, Wu is an entire movement. People were running around with Wu tattooed on their faces, crazy shyt like that. They had video games and comic books. They had an entire successful clothing line.

When Marvel made "Ironman" they didn't sue Ghost....they called him up and asked if he wanted to be in the movie. Because of his album and alias. "True Detective" season 1 was one of the best dramas of 2015 and the best shot scene of the year from that series....a 6 minute tracking shot....was set to a Wu-Tang song from 1993.

Earlier in the '00's MTV paid Ghost just to talk.



Other people have mentioned RZA scoring movies, Method Man being on "The Wire", GZA lecturing universities and doing interviews with Neil DeGrasse Tyson, etc.

BONE has nothing like any of that. And that's fine. But all that shyt contributes to the legacy of a group, beyond what they sold 20 years ago. Which is why BONE is opening for Wu. It's not rocket science. And the funny thing is RTB was originally built around Wu-Tang Clan. It exists more or less solely because of them. Nobody is starting an entire tour franchise based around BONE, let's be real here.
