Absolute classic. Gza's best album after Liquid Swords. Loved the chess theme throughout. When you look at the tracknames in order, it's a chess match from beginning to end, also emphasized by the skits.

Yet, Gza never mentions chess in his verses, only street shyt. While metaphorically still matching the different chess themes.

Very dope album. When it came out I liked it a lot, but felt like GZA had lost a bit of energy in his voice. Went back to it just the other week and this didn't bother me. The lyrics and flows are elite, and the beats are a great fit.

Great album, Gza discography is short but underrated.

You might say he made it brief, son, half short and twice strong.

Yeah this is when he started to get lazy with his vocals, 3 years later Pro Tools comes out and he sounds like he's rapping from the bed half awake. :francis:

I didn't listen to it in full for a long. I don't think I listened in full until 2009 or 2010. Def fukk with it a lot more now than I did back then.

... to not dropping an album since Pro Tools. The cover for Dark Matter dropped in 2012 already, but we're still waiting
It's hard being a Gza fan, man :to:
