Nah. Later. I might say 2008.

In 2006, Sean John and Rocawear were still big. They were all over Macy's with posters all over Time Square.

But when that Gucci, LV, ETC became heavy in hip-hop circle it was over.

They died with Hip-Hop fashion.

All of that high end fashion didn't start popping until super recently. And I don't think it will last because I don't believe the average minority in America can afford a whole wardrobe of nothing but Gucci, Balenciaga, Moncler etc. so you're gonna have a proliferation of fake shyt and counterfeit shyt always destroys fashion trends. And nothing is more tacky than fake Gucci. What is more stereotypically bammerish than wearing head to toe fake Gucci? Fake Mitchell and Ness jerseys killed throwbacks in the early to mid 2000's. Fake Bape killed Bape in the mid to late 2000's. In the early 2010's, it was still all Ralph everything. Wale and Curren$y brought the throwback jerseys back this decade too. Being a sneakerhead went mainstream this decade too because back in the early to mid 2000's, people still had basic ass shoe game of butter Timberlands and all white or all black Air Force 1's and like one or two pairs of Jordan's. I didn't start to see people wearing Gucci t shirts and matching shoes until this summer. That's such an 80's concept to begin with.

This will always be a classic:

would wear it today if the cut was better.

Had the long sleeve version of that and it was one of my "go to" shirts.

Good times :flabbynsick:

All that damn floor space that section takes up, somebody is buying it so it cant be "faded out".

a)It barely takes up any floor space. Polo, Nike, Levi's, Nautica and others have bigger sections than SJ, and in prime locations. Guarantee that SJ isn't the first thing you see when walking into the Men's dept.
b) Of course people buy it; all I said is that it's not in style. How many people do you really see rocking SJ on a daily basis?

I'm not getting at people who wear it. I honestly couldn't care less :yeshrug:. I'm just saying that it's not "in style" like it used to be

I'd say 2004/2005 as Hip Hop was already going through a cultural shift. 2006/2007 saw skinny jean rappers appear...

In more than a couple malls in Atlanta the Sean John section is larger than the Nautica, Tommy, and Izod sections. And I'm not talking about the hood malls. In Lenox Mall that shyt is on two of the three floors in the men's section.

I have a Sean Jean jacket from like 2008 that I didn't let go until last year, it didn't say Sean Jean on it, just had a crest on the lappel. It was probably my favorite piece of clothing, I could wear it with everything. That and a Ecko hoodie are the last piece of 00's street wear I was still holding onto.

I had 1 off pieces from a lot of brands I held on for way too long. I had a Ill Phat Farm snorkel coat I kept for 10 years. I also had an Esco wool sweater I def kept for 10 years at least. My son actually wears my throwback jerseys now, I only had a couple tho.

Interesting. Maybe its location based because the malls up this way (DMV) have pretty small SJ sections from what I've seen.

General public ain't hitting Nordstrom and Neiman like that. So if we talking higher end then OK, that's different. The average consumer is at Macy's more often than those.

nikkas dont fukk with big logo shyt like that no more B

You can't rock another mans emblem on your ass and chest and take the 1-2-3-4-5-6 or A-B-C-D train past 96th street B :dame:

Naw but for real you take the logos off and the clothes are mostly garbage :manny: Brands got over on nikkas for so long :wow:

Just No! Brands and logos are all a wave now and has been for a minute. It’s the reason why Adidas, Tommy, Guess and CK are so popping right

It’s also why Gucci has a stranglehold on the designer clothes

It’s also why Supreme, Off White and others demand is at a fever pitch

I feel like I've seen a Sean John store in the Atlanta Airport....so someone is still buying it. Maybe Rocawear has fallen off, but Sean John is still seemingly going strong.
