Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
I think the better question is why the Kings don't want to trade him, it's clear they can't build around him and there's pretty much zero chance he re-signs with them so why continue to hold onto a player when this is the best time to get max return for him.

Got a new arena and need someone to pull people in a small market.

Because Danny Ainge will offer his worst draft pick and a guy like Rozier in return. There is a reason they have struggled with trading for anyone .

Pacers ain't trading George. He had an opportunity to get Butler on draft night and wouldn't go through with it.

His gameplan is praying he gets stars to fall in his lap again like the 2007 offseason. It's gonna blow up in his face, but he has a loyal group of apologists who make any and every excuse for everything he does.

I've been hearing "What happens during the season doesn't matter, wait till the offseason that's when the real moves are gonna happen" for about 4 years now

3 reasons :

1. Sacramento is 16th in home attendance in a new arena. That shyt will plummet so fast when you don't have much of anything to move forward with (all their rookies are either raw as fukk or are underachievers). Think about it from a PR standpoint: "Come see Malachi Richardson and the Sacramento Kings!!!" "Witness Georgios Papagiannis and the Sacramento Kings as they take on the Golden State Warriors!!" Go to the Kings store with nothing but Skal Labissiere jerseys  When you transition from one guy to the next, you do want at least a place holder. Every team has one. The ones that don't are assured to have empty seats. They don't wanna take that L even if it makes basketball sense.

2. They wanna trade Gay and Cauley-Stein first.

3. They want a King's ransom for him (pardon the pun). A pu pu platter of picks doesn't appeal to these teams anymore. Ainge is struggling to comprehend that. If the Celtics are in position to select say a Fultz or whoever, the Kings might entertain it, but then Boston's gonna get cold feet. If the best thing you have to offer me as a prospect is wack ass Jaylen Brown, then go away.

EDIT: One more reason: they're not THAT far from 8th seed. 2 games out , 1 in the loss column. 10 years out of the playoffs, if you can get in even as human lube for Golden State, that boosts morale for a team like the Kings

Fair enough, but another playoff lost may put the pressure on him to make a move, especially since a few of their key players are slated to get raises come 2018. I'll agree with you guys that Ainge has been hesitant to pull the trigger, but let's wait to this summer to kill him, because there's nothing the Celtics can do this year to win the title.

If he doesn't make a move this summer, then it's clear Danny overvalues his assets and think he'll just get a star by lowballing a team to death.

This team got embarrassed in the playoffs two years running, and are currently fielding a team that's doesn't play defense or rebound and is floundering around .500. If he doesn't feel pressure now then he never will.

People trip me out with the "put him in a winning environment, his attitude will change".

Fukk that, an environment should have nothing to do with professionalism. Winning or losing, you should conduct yourself the same way. You don't see players like anthony davis acting up. He's been in the league long enough to know what's right and what's wrong.

He is clearly a cancer to the team and has a terrible attitude. This is the same dude who was going off during the olympics.

All this being said he's gonna walk in 2 years...sell the fans on a trade now or sell them on getting nothing when he walks and delay the process for 2 years for no reason.....they won't make the playoffs so why pretend for 2 years that there's a core...basically you think there gonna enjoy 2 yrs of ticket sales before the bottom falls out...

See that you can't convince the team of that yet. Like I said, they're actually not that far off from 8th seed, so at the very least they'll go for it now.

How can you convince fans that a clutter of picks will lead to a brighter future when they haven't shown much ability at all to draft well? Any deal now, teams want something tangible back. Fans wanna know what's behind doors #1, 2 and 3 before you give it to them. The bottom is gonna fall out anyway, but if by some chance you crack the 8th seed before then, starting over won't hurt as much. Trading the only reason to attend even a new arena is like sabotaging the little bit of hope you had in exchange for hastening the chance to see a LONG rebuild take place. Everyone looks at the Nets as fukked but at least the hardcore fan still gets to see Brook Lopez who has been there forever and Jeremy Lin. Once DMC, Gay and WCS go, what do you have to sell to people? Bum ass Jaylen Brown should they go that route? A Brooklyn pick you can't control? Hell if the Kings finish worse than the Nets, clearly they won't swap.

I'll ask you this: if letting Cousins walk for nothing led to brand new management in the front office, would you choose that over trading Cousins for some more losers and a bunch of meaningless picks with the current management being in charge of fixing it?

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
and I'll forever stress, the team that really needs to pursue a Cousins trade isn't Boston. It's Denver.

If you think Jaylen Brown isn't a very intriguing prospect then you should probably shouldn't speak on basketball anymore.

Go watch your Ricky Rubio highlight videos on YouTube and keep telling us Zach Lavine player in the league.

I remember you arguing with me when I said Myles Turner should be taken ahead of WCS
