I was making 13.23 an hour in Atlanta and had a 1000 sqft 1 bedroom apartment and a brand new car with a note around 223 and insurance around 100. All you have to do is budget.

Full time job making a little over 800 a check.
What about savings, investments and retirement? You're not doing all that AND paying bills with that amount of money. The older you get, the more your financial goals change...well for most people, so it becomes important to make a little more money to be "comfortable". I do agree you need to budget though. That's most important.

This is me exactly.

Car note 400
Insurance 160
Personal loan 1800 ... 80 /month
Credit card 3500 ... paying minimums
Student loan 8000 ... 114 month
Rent 1150

:mjcry:

Based off this, how much should I be earning Coli accountants?
Well you haven't included costs for saving/emergency fund, investing, retirement, food, clothing, utilities, cable/wifi/streaming services, phone/communication, car maintenance, etc.

90k at least, otherwise I think it would be wiser to just stay home or get multiple roommates.

It's one thing to be able to afford rent and bills...it's another to be able to live and save comfortably.

I've done it on 26K (granted, it was a situation where I barely saved and could not afford any emergencies). I've done it on more than that.

But I'd say to live a run of the mill average life where I am (South) -- which is more than fine, don't get it twisted -- aim for mid 30s at the very least and budget accordingly. If you want to be comfortable or at least heading toward that? mid-40s to low 50s.

This all assumes manageable/minimal debt or less.

60K isn’t enough? :what:

I don’t care if you live in New York City. If you’re a single man with no kids and you’re BARELY scraping by off 60K then you’re just a complete fukking idiot.

Edit / and I say this as someone who has lived like a king off of 26K in Wilson NC. Nice house, big yard front and back AND a shed. Wrap around porch. And I own two vehicles an 04 and an 07.

Now I make 35K and I’m living like a super king. I do what I want, when I want. And have almost 10K saved up and counting. I’m good.

Now imagine if I was making 60 fukking K :snoop:

Are most Lexus and toyotas good enough you wouldn't need a mechanic to check it out?

What is the cheapest one you could get if you needed a car asap without it being a bullshyt car?
I have an 03 Civic with 115k miles on it and I've been driving it for a year in DC with no problems (~700 miles a month). All I spent this year on upkeep was $500 for two oil changes and having the brakes and pads replaced.

We don’t make it by the hour we make it in increments breh

Lucky you.

Slow paper is better than no paper tho, so I'm just doing what I got to do until I get to where I want to be.

I hope a giant financial blessing come through tho. That would put a boost on my dreams and aspirations. :mjcry::lawd:

I'm tryna not ask God for anything else for a while. He just hooked me up something serious recently :whew:
