Whats your experience working with indians in a corporate office??

Theyre almost all cool at my job we’re all techies. I dont have any of the issues people talk about except a handful of them.

They all over in tech industry. They cool for the most part to work with as colleagues.

But absolute WORST as leaders or managers. Specifically the ones who grew up there and came here. It's like they take joy in being dikks to their employees and demanding you kiss their ass

We had a change in leadership few years back . This Indian dude took over our org. I changed jobs 3 months later.

Not good. Probably the worst experience

Like someone said the women and younger dudes are fine.

The older ones are condescending, arrogant, by the book to a fault, and are high on nepotism.

Put it this way. In nyc, they run the meter maid market. Handing out parking tickets like its an honor.

I haven’t had to interact with them much in my section outside of 1. She was older but was cool and listened when I had to teach her how things worked.

I don’t work in tech though so I imagine things are much different there.

The women are typically nice to you. Younger Indian men can be cool people, generally pretty competent and helpful. Older Indian men still think they are in a caste system, look down on women and darker toned people unless you're a manager then they will kiss your ass. They are not afraid to throw you under the bus and blame things on you. A good percentage won't even acknowledge you.

It will take a while but you'll get used to the accent and will be able to understand any of them. They tend to over explain and repeat things they say. They are extremely hard working because corporate basically treats them like indentured servants due to h1b finesse.

Ps some really do smell like 12 RDS of boxing and will light up the part of the office they are in. You'll lose nose hairs walking past their desk forreal.

Unfortunately this happens with many people who are in a new position of authority after being in a subjugated position (or perceived to be).

Being polite, professional and doing everything that is required is not enough for them. As you said, they expect you to be a rose bearer from Coming to America while in their presence. Happens a lot with Black Women in power too.

When I used to work at a chicken plant a long time ago they were lazy. There was a bunch of them and most of them were lazy.

My manager is an Indian woman, she's the best manager I've ever had.

They look miserable 80% of the time
Walk on the wrong side and are mad at you
Will have a scrum huddle loud as fukk in the middle of the office with an empty scrum room 5 fukkin feet away
Their scent fukkin lingers in said scrum room
Cafeteria caters to their no beef vegetarian asses

I will say this though they have one of the strongest Employee groups and form up like Voltron.

Im in IT , the ones ive worked with were cool no issues always tried to go the extra mile
My wife is in HR she complains about them all the time lmfao , she said the main issue is they are act like they are entitled

Generally stick to themselves, are hard working and competent. Younger ones are more Americanized and generally cool, older ones you can run into some really on some bullshyt. Either they think they know better for no reason or they want to try and reprimand you for doing shyt not exactly by the book even tho it got the intended results. Also, generally very nerdy culture. They are about their jobs, their families and not much else. They struggle to talk about any other subjects.

They mainly stick to themselves like one poster said. Lunch woth each other.

The women will smile and be polite and most of the men are pretty respectful.

Never had an issue except the ones who would hog the car chargers charging their stupid Tesla's and they are likely the reason why our company took away free charging priveleges
