Young Thug, Migos, Cheef Keef, Meek Mills and such are the main ones getting pushed.

The only ones out that group that has any buzz is Thug and Mill.

And the only one that sells records out that group is Meek Mill.

Cheef Keef is beyond washed.

His three albums have sold a total of 190K out of his own mouth.

Immortal Technique is "conscious", nor do I label anything conscious.

I never said anything about 2Pac.
That would shock me but if true so be it. I think tech is concious. And y'all is the short form of you all, not just you brah.

If you read and listen to interviews from the oldschool cats, many feel that HipHop was in it's purest form when it was closer to Disco and the MC's were giving off more of a party vibe while being backed by a DJ. Some think when MC's started to become more of the full blown modern rapper it killed the original vibe with the 4 elements.

I like old school vids like this...I'm finna watch dis whole shyt:popcorn3:(hope I haven't seen it already)

But I could see how opinions could vary...I mean the cats who were there who knew they were doing something different than disco would probably say "we were the first hip hop acts" and I could never say no to em'...real talk, but like all things it had to grow to its full future income earning societal effecting position. No way that would happen without real lyricism. So yes they are the architects like pilgrims where the founders here...but a few things had to happen for hip hop to begin...like a few things had to happen for the country to begin. But they CERTAINLY BLAZED THE TRAIL(no matter what's said):salute:

They all get radio push.

In a few months from now another street rapper will get a push as well.

it was always uncool unless it was done in angry rebel fashion like public enemy and most importantly the music just has to sound good...and anger speaks when it comes to resonating philosophies ...not some corny mos def talib kwali stuff

Keef is not on the radio. If you do hear him, it's Don't Like from 2012, usually the remix with Kanye and Pusha T on it.

Dudes like Trinidad James, etc get one song and it's a wrap. There is no push.

And considering most people don't fukk with the radio anymore but are using services like YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music, people get to hear what they want.

It's 2015, not 1995.

They are all street rappers lol.

Im saying they push is for street rappers in general not Cheef Keef alone. :snoop:

People still fukk with the radio. Its how most of these street rappers survive in this era when in last era they wouldnt have seen the light of day lol.

All the radio does is play the same 10 songs all day until people are forced to accept it.

If anything I feel like conscious Hip Hop is becoming more mainstream. People are tired of all the gangsta rap sheet hence reason a lot of gangsta stay local. J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and the rising Big Krit are all conscious rappers.
Thats not gangsta rap.

Thats middle class rap

These aren't conscious artists.

These are artists that reflect the realities of black people as blacks move towards better economic outlooks

Fake gangsta or street or whatever you want to call them they are the main ones getting pushed by the labels.

Labels dont want to push conscious rappers no more because the small amount of morality in the mainstream rap scene is gone.
This isnt true.

Its been shown that they'll push anything that sells. Even if its "conscious" Most of these dudes just dont sound good

It is true, rap is less about a statement or an art or a movement.

Back then even the gangsta rappers said some conscious shyt.

It had monetary gain in mind but it wasnt everything. It had a bit of morality.

Its become purely monetary these days which is how street shyt ended up being the only thing that is promoted. Its lost its soul.
