When did fighting games become so boring?

I kinda agree. Bought a $300 fighting stick along with SFV. Haven’t touched them in months. And whenever I do play street fighter, I play a few games online then get bored and stop. Fighting games ain’t the same for me.

Probably 2009 as of recently there has been a few good fighting games that came out in 2017 and 2018 like Fighting Layer Ex, KOF 14, Dissidia NT, DB Fighterz, and SC6 other than that I agree fighting games have been bland and boring you got Capcom milking the fukking shyt out of street fighter with various editions and re-releasing the same ol classics instead of releasing a new IP or releasing a sequel of Rival Schools, Darkstalkers, Power Stone, Star Gladiator, Tech Romancer or etc. After Tekken 5 Tekken has lost its muster with me everything it feels to cartoony and popish it's missing that dark atmosphere that Tekken 2 and Tekken 4 had in the composition, stages, and character stories. Another issue is probably because there isn't a variety of developers compared to the 90s and 2000s developing fighting games.

once fighting games got online 90% of the people who played them realized they were trash
This, alot of people played and thought they were good and the game was fun enough.

Then online came around esports starting showing fighters and people realized they suck and just stop playing.

Unless you are playing super casual, fighters require a lot of time and dedication

I just bought tekken 7 the other day for $18. It was fun for the first couple of hours then I’m like :francis:

Couple of hours or couple of minutes? I used to love fighting games and think I’m approaching it wrong like I need to purchase an arcade stick to truly enjoy this genre

I don’t see how you can play tekken 7 for a few hours and get bored unless you aren’t dedicated ...

Oh ...

You just want to mash buttons and do high damage combos without the dedication .... disgusting.

I’ve been playing for 2 years alwaysing looking to improve and work on my game

Now I see through the mind of a bum , I respect my peers even more

Side note Fighters don't get Triple A budgets.

Legitimately the only fighter to get that kind of budget is Mortal Kombat ironically enough, and that's thanks to Warner Brothers.

With bandi namco coming in a close 2nd.

But over all fighters are poverty titles, Can you image if other fighters got the budget and support MK got from warner bros...

When the arcade left I slowly started to fall out. Mortal Kombat 9 and Street Fighter 4 were the last times I really got into fighting games.
