It's because you're playing boring and soulless games like Tekken and Street Fighter. Mortal Kombat >>>

Fighting games can be hard cause online doesn't hold back. I pretty good at fighting games but even the ones I suck at I stop playing. I can't even get past gold on street fighter v.

Another thing about fighting games online they continue to make it harder by not being able to see who you're playing before you start playing them. Like if I just got bodied by this guy I don't want to play him again but with the online match making you don't have a choice.

I just bought tekken 7 the other day for $18. It was fun for the first couple of hours then I’m like :francis:
missing is my friends, 2 feet away, ready to either pass the blunt, or the sticks

I was one of the first console players that I know that was online. Back on the xbox when you had to buy that big ass lan adapter for the back. it still will not, and cannot, ever replace playing with your friends IN THE SAME ROOM. Fighting games suffered the worst, then sports/racing, then open world.

Really, online shooters are the only ones that benefited.. and open world is just half ass games where you can tell, 70% of the resources went to "now how can we incorporate online"

U need to fight for something

I wish a dev could make a myplayer type fighting game. A game where I can customize everything about my fighter from the moves to the clothes would be dope af.

My cuz used to play this game call dragon seed on ps1. That game has more depth than every fighter this gen put together. No cap

This is the only real answer for most nikkas

The games outgrew is when online hit, local play with yo siblings and regular cats is good fun but playin online against ppl who eat shyt and breathe this shyt daily :mjlol:

:rudy:

:camby:

Once all your ppl got too old and got lives to the point where they couldn’t lay the shyt died with me personally :manny:
I think people are just saying that... If they really enjoyed the game, they would try and get better. You do it with any other game you play. But with fighters, people give up quick cause they really don't like the game in the first place.

I know cause I've done it both ways. Was TRASH on Tekken Tag. Didn't care or try to be better. My boys would whip my ass constantly. One day I got tired of hearing it. Simply picked a character (Jin) and said I'm gonna study this. Got my boy's strategy guide :flabbynsick: and within DAYS, i was murdering everything. My boy was nice with like 10 fighters, would read that book daily, practice mode, all that. Could not stop me. They had to ban me using Jin.... So I switched to Jun. Learned her... Trashed these nikkas. I'm talking like 7-10 matches before I passed the sticks

I USED to think it was the game that was fun. Until we got old and now it's Tekken 7. It's not like its going to be hard to remember button presses. Get down a move list. Learn your opponents. It's that I don't even care to do the shyt. To play some stranger, from nowhere, who's not gonna shyt talk me all night, or hit the blunt with me, or have a standing commentary from my boys waiting to beat my ass next

One day, my boy with the guide hits me up... Yoooooo we having a Tekken tournament coming up for old times sake. All his new boys play hard and he remembered how nice I am. nikka this a decade plus later...My skills was known :myman:

I go there.. 10 nikkas in the basement, music on, girls there, drinks, weed, feels just like the old days... I got my ass HANDED to me... Each and every time... But it was fun as fukk the entire time... Man nothing was missed. I'm back to learning my shyt. Practicing combos. Playing them online only. And gearing up for the next one.

Take that element away.... and this shyt collects dust again

Fighters need more single player modes to attract casual players and keep them around a little longer.

Most people arent playing games to dedicate mad hours to, and then STILL be trash. FG's are the hardest genre so retention rate for players is super low.

Funny enough, game companies are attempting to make fighters easier/more accessible, but that just alienates the playerbase they have and the casuals dont give a fukk that its easier cuz they're still just mashing randomly and not learning.

Smash Ultimate has a spirits mode that adds a nice little depth to battles in equiping your fighters to have unique abilities to take on other fighters and their spirits online that separates from the competitive side, and barely anybody is using it. Some people are just not trying to do anything with anything that's given to them.

A lot of yall cats wouldn't be able to hang in the arcades in Tokyo. I remember the worst ass whooping I got in Street Fighter IV was at Club Sega in Akihabara. Some Japanese breh got a double perfect on me with Ryu and had me like stop the madness :damn:

Eventually I kept on playing for several days out there and I was holding my own out in Tokyo where they take that shyt SERIOUSLY. After enough playing I got M. Bison on a 23 fight winning streak out there :banderas:

Fighting games are not about when you win, it's about how you respond after you get your ass whooped.

Told him to come see me in mvc1, got my ass whooped. :mjcry:

You cant be afraid to lose in fighting games like you said its all about how you come back.

man Marvel v Capcom was so hard to get a turn in to play at arcades. I one time saw it empty and ran to it, and played for a bit only for someone to beat me EASILY and then start playing the game with his friend. :mjcry:
