Fighting games are HARD online , I don’t think I ever won a match in my entire life :dead:

You really gotta study the moves and everything , shyt is basically like fighting in real life only virtual if that makes any sense

CVS2 was the height of it all for me. I love large rosters full of well drawn sprites. Game was broken I know but it was so fun to play with low tiers.

I just bought tekken 7 the other day for $18. It was fun for the first couple of hours then I’m like :francis:
For me, once they started focusing more on combos than gameplay. In real life for instance if you wanna put a combo together you do it when you can and when in range ala Street Fighter 2/Mortal Kombat 2

Killer instinct was cool because it was unique and gameplay wise a combo game. Not a traditional fighter.

That created what we call today the "call of duty effect" so every fighter had to have some form of that. MK3 had it and MK has never been the same. SF3 would add defensive combos basically which only half the fighting game population still has little understanding of but the people who did learn it act like they not in the extreme minority :dahell: should have made a true SF3 sequel and released it on the ULTRA 64 as originally planned :smugbiden:

Capcom realeased dozens of fighters that had various degrees of combos with marvel vs Capcom being the super combo based fighter while games like Dark Stalkers was more traditional imo and seemed like the right amount of "combo cheese" to where it wouldn't dominate gameplay.

Then Capcom and other companies only created sequels to the games that were the most popular after all of that. So fighting games are stuck in a creative rut until somebody creates a game that forces everyone else to evolve as well. But then again :patrice: apparently you can copy another games everything, from battle Royalë modes to super combos in fighters. We as consumers have to stand up for and/or to these companies about this copy cat shyt :stop: we have to tell EA if they wanna stop NFL games from being made then we'll stop buying Madden until they reconsider. Then that same energy needs to be directed at the NFL for siding with white supremacy :dame:

This problem is the problem with most genres these days, and I feel with things like the internet..well that stifles peoples imagination and creativity because instead you can go online and be entertained. Its like letting your kids watch too much tv (that used to be a thing) but now nikkaz can be distracted 24hrs a day. If you're reading this... See what I mean :usure:

Then you know there are exceptions to every rule :handshake:
That's my opinion on why there is a lack of creativity :yeshrug:

I think fighters are still fun, but Capcom just has some bland and souless releases. they suffer from.
  • Overtuned mechanics/Balancing
  • Boring Rosters (visually and mechanically)
  • Season Pass Syndrome
  • Zzz Competitive scene

When you had to pay extra money for characters is basically when people really started checking out....its such a lame ass practice.

But Dragonball and MK might restore the feeling to be honest.

Lets see how long Mk11 last:sas1:

Not long....its boring as hell to me.

SFIV, SF3 OE and MK9 last gen I was really into but this gen

SFV felt boring do I didn't buy it, MK11 is a step up in every way except actual fighting, I'm sorry the combo options are just trash and feel limited AF compared to 9.

Overall, I think I'm just losing the drive to play fighting games...SF6 better be good.

The way the ranking systems are setup in fighting games now alienates a lot of people too. Not being to see anything about your opponents before already have to fight is annoying because you could end up fighting someone clearly way above your skill level 3 times in a row and no one wants to go thru that.

Fighting games need to stop trying to treat ranked matches online like real tournaments. If i wanted tournament style I'll go to a fukking tournament.

Then that shows who's a casual. I don't have a problem playing high ranked players... You chose to play online

tbh i think it takes a kid mentality to do the same shyt over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over

...and not be like "yo what the fukk am I doing" :gucci:

Games taste better when you have no responsiblities. That's my take on it

This

Was cool during childhood but when you finally discovered putting your stick in some p*ssy, the game sticks wasn't priority anymore.

Thread is a prime example of what the problem with fighters is.

Its literally too hard and requires to much dedication for your average gamer. Even gamers that are amazing alot of times cant deal with battling another human being 1 on 1

And this is no disrespect to anyone who has posted, but there's alot of excuses as to why they dont like fighter, cant play them or how its different now.

Fighting games are like o e of the only genres that touch your soul when you get washed. Especially washed in a dominate fashion.

I've seen it over and over again.

"Man I bet all you do is play this game"

While the dude who's saying it has 200 hours in NBA 2k, COD and madden.

I've seen people get beaten down and then some over fighting games.
