North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
That no carb shyt is taxing mentally. When losing weight you need to think sustainability. It's better to just to limit the fukk shyt and try eat clean. Lean meat, fruits and some whole grains will have your waistline looking right. The real shyt to cut out is sodas and sweets. Reach for the fruit over the candy

I used Adkins as a kickstarter to lose weight.

I went from 240 - 215 doing low carb intake. Then it switched it up to a more sustainable diet. Eventually I was eating 5 or 6 snack size meals a day and my body would have enough energy. I wasn't hungry. :manny:

But again, everybody is different.

:mindblown:

Sugar is the cause of obesity
Sugar is a carbohydrate
If you stop eating/drinking sugar, you will lose weight.

This is why America had an obesity problem. Everybody thought ‘trans fats’ were responsible for weight gain, but in actuality it was sugar.

I feel sorry for you. Some of that sounds fine, but god damn I can't imagine being that regimented every day of my life.:mjlol: That restriction and level of dedication to doing that and keeping it up--you said for five months now? Bless you.

I'm eating a piece cake in an hour, it's someone's birthday at the office. :yeshrug: One of my coworkers is on the diet and I see the sadness on her face when she can't eat in the moment. :mjcry:
Naw don’t feel sorry for people like us. It’s worthwhile to be that meticulous in your diet and planning and see the results it brings.

Keeping yourself strict like this is a good way to build a regimen and build a habit. If you want to change your life, change your habits.

For me:
6:30 Black coffee and tea
7:00 15 minutes treadmill
11:00 100 gr chicken breast/lean meat, 100 gr cauliflower, 50 gr tofu with seasonings
12:00 A glass of coconut water
15:00 Apple, low fat yogurt, black coffee, tea
18:30 15 minutes treadmill
19:00 100 gr chicken breast/lean meat, 100 gr Broccoli, 4 egg whites with seasonings
No further meal until 11:00 next day.

This is a horrible diet. Little protein, no fat, almost no calories :mjlol:

Keeping yourself strict like this is a good way to build a regimen and build a habit. If you want to change your life, change your habits.

But you could still see results following many other approaches. There are so many different diet fads out there and they all are different avenues for weight loss. Each one of them has a cult of followers that swear it's the best thing since sliced bread. That's because a diet in general(no matter which diet you choose to follow) can cause weight loss. The issue is that most people are not able to sustain these sort of diets in the long term. A diet should be a lifestyle change that you can sustain and keep the rest of your life. If you cannot do that with the "diet" you've chosen as your avenue for weight loss, the weight will come back on eventually, especially if you slowly but surely go back to eating food groups that you cut out to lose it.

I do feel sorry for people like you all, because I've done these diets before. I know what it's like, and I know what I told myself when I did them. All kind of juelzing and rationalizing as I was seeing results. But, it was very restricting, and overtime as life happened, these sort of restrictive diets were difficult to continue. But, if it works for you, and you can sustain and do this forever, then more power to you. I find that when you change your habits so that they are reasonable and sustainable over a long period of time, they are easier to maintain. But everyone is different. Good luck to you breh.

Little protein :dwillhuh:

200 grams of chicken breasts, and 4 eggs at approximately 28 grams of protein is little protein now :dwillhuh:

Plus the yogurt that’s probably damn near 250 grams of protein. To keep your muscle weight consistent you should consume at least 1 gram per pound of body weight as a male. Water you talking about :dwillhuh:

People ate smaller portions and were more active.

Exactly but you have brehs in here blaming it on everything but the reality. Carbs can still be included in a diet, as long as you eat them in moderation(as with anything) and choose the right ones. They in itself are not to blame for the surplus of overweight people. In fact numerous studies have suggested that if anything it is the amount of processed foods, pesticides, pollutants, prescription medications, stress levels, gut bacteria, antibiotics, ridiculous portion sizes, less activity, genetics and metabolism that have caused the spike in overweight people. It does not help that many of these people yo-yo diet repeatedly, by going on one diet one year, losing it, then gaining it back, and getting bigger than before, and rinse and repeat. But, honestly what this thread shows me is how powerful perception and mentality is toward weight loss and food groups. Many people believe in a certain method, so of course that method will work. It doesn't mean that method is more effective than other methods that can do the same thing. It just means that person believes that method works best for them. And that's fine. :yeshrug:

The Truth
nikkas mad at Keto brehs in here :mjlol::gucci:

Nobody is telling yall to do our shyt, we tell you what has worked for US.

If you happy with whatever fad/diet you into then go for it. nikkas talking about fasting a day or some bullshyt like thats hard. Your Keto might take weeks to actually kick in and if you start seeing results. Then you have to go through an entire sluggish period, might feel a loss in strength over a period of time, then once you get over shyt your strength returns and you start dropping weight FAST. I lost my shyt fast af and even when I'm not in Ketosis it has stayed off for the most part.

And all I did was IF and Keto for like 2 months. If you wanna keep eating the bullshyt you eat and DON'T want to cut carbs (by far the easiest way to lose) then don't. But cutting carbs isn't new, nikkas just discovering this shyt and making it new

Also on a Keto, you don't completely cut ALL your carbs... IDK why yall keep acting like it. You work within a specific range. Outside of that, you can eat whatever the fukk you want

Keto gets a lot of flack for two reasons imo...

It takes strong willpower to give up those simple carbohydrates, the junk that most people’s diet is compromised of...

And two, people will never stop believing that carbs are necessary for energy...

Keto is great for cutting but it’s not for the faint of heart... and you gotta eat complex carbs like vegetables.

S/N... funny thing is that most of the foods that cause diabetes, obesity, and heart ailments are carbohydrates... pretty much every corporate food manufacturer’s merchandise is some form of simple carbohydrate... things that make you go hmm.

Yes you could see results with other approaches. But he sees results with that method so that’s the one he uses. My diet is also protein heavy but I eat more carbs than he does, but I still have energy to walk 30 min to the boxing gym, put in an hour and a half of hard work and then walk 30 minutes home and have enough energy to stay awake for another six hours.

But I think the disconnect here is you’re speaking on weight loss and yet I’m speaking on weight gain, I want to gain weight in muscle and minimize the fat. So I eat enough carbs to have energy (complex carbs!) but not an excess so that those carbs are turned into adipose tissue. That’s why I’m lean protein heavy and lower on the carbs. I tried a carb heavy diet before and my stomach ballooned even though my arms and chest got big and I was working out and had plenty of energy. It’s all about finding what works for you. And I know what works for me and people in general really.

I do feel sorry for people like you all, because I've done these diets before. I know what it's like, and I know what I told myself when I did them. Don’t feel sorry for us that are obsessed with sculpting our bodies and neurotic about it. Some of us have a healthy neurosis that gives us joy and let us really embrace the way of life we choose and how we live it.

Yeah that was you key word you lol. I don’t follow any fad diet, I’m a biochemistry major and I want to be a nutritionist I love this shyt. So I balance my diet around my studies not fad diets. For example, vitamin c is essential in building collagen, protein found in the skin that keeps it youthful, and found in connective tissues such as tendons and ligaments. If you want to perform your tendons and ligaments must be strong to minimize injury and support work loads. So I build my diet around science not fads.

Not saying I don’t enjoy cake and candy because I do, but yeah it works for me and brings me joy when I see my research gives me results. So yeah thanks, it does work for me and the results make me happy
