Or he is being realistic and understanding the nature of how other races view us. Barring that, merely knowing racism is real should be enough. Not to attack you, but a lot of African progress has been hindered by sentiments like this, that is, wanting to be like a cac. Useful or necessary things or a better way of doing things dismissed as wanting to be like the white man. I've seen it in the village I was born in, to a place I was trying to set up a clinic in, to even in my own family.
