I got two credit cards one with 5k & 10k. I'm closing both.

I hate credit cards, I got in to so much credit debt in my 20s. I didnt understand CC. I spent on popping bottles in the club, buying cars, fukking hookers & taking females on shopping trips etc

Luckily I paid back every penny

Leave those things open and just toss them in a drawer for an emergency

it's not as impressive as it sounds. i rarely put shyt on credit, i probably have like 2-3% utilization every month and pay the bill in full every time, i still got over a $160k credit limit across 3 chase cards.

Damn

Now at 785 again. Riding the road back to 820.

This is an easy concept to get your credit score up. There is no other way.

1. Open a unsecured card. Make a 300$ deposit.

2. Pay on time for 6 months.

3. Ask for graduation or a new card (secured). Repeat step 2.

4. Try to open other cards or take off negative items from your report

5. Keep all your cards for credit history

6. Try to open rewards cards and use them for all purchases.

7. Step 2

8. Ask for CLI and keep making on-time payments. Always pay in full

The main logic is "do not use CCs to buy things you do not have money for right now". If you don't have the money now, then you can't have it now. Unless it's an emergency

I looked at Barclay today and they said its only for uk

barclaycardus.com/
I only asked for one. Went from 3000 to 7000. I cancelled because Best Buy customer service is the worse when it comes to products and their rewards are only for Best Buy purchases.

You can get an increase. I had synchrony bank too for Ashley furniture and Walmart. Never asked for one with Ashley furniture. Got several over the course of years with Walmart. You should have read your adverse action letter it tells you why you were denied. People have to understand a great credit score doesn’t guarantee you an increase. There are other factors taken into consideration. Of course there are complaints about not getting an increase from best buy. You’ll find complaints from every credit card about increases . Sounds like to me you have too many credit cards. Too much available credit can be bad if the lender thinks you don’t have the funds to pay.

:whoa: should have made my self clear....I NEVER requested an increase. my credit was excellent. bought a new house not only with zero down but left closing with TWO checks. I am just giving OP example that some lenders dont offer increases like that for whatever reason. I dont recall if I ever asked for an increase from anyone tbh. most of my limits were great and all my increases have been automatic....didnt have to ask. all the other stuff you are speculating, I never gave all that info.

and when you are talking about credit cards denying increases of course, but Best Buy is different when you compare their co-branded card with others. the complaints come from people who have had the freakin card for YEARS and paid in full, and some were not overextended in credit and in the meantime getting LARGE increases from their other cards. anyone who does research will know, Best Buy, is notorious for this and very few other cards have these same tendencies....Citi notwithstanding. its pretty fukkin ridiculous to have a card from 5-10 years and get denied for increases as thousands of people have stated. it was no skin off me....I didnt need the card and stopped shopping there...in fact, I never missed a payment, and they closed the card which was $300 and to debunk what you said...at the time I had TWO other Citi cards...one with 10k limit and the other 3500 limit....so you cant tell me shyt about Best Buy Mastercard. would never recommend that card to anyone. one of the WOATS thats not sub-prime:rudy:

Get the Navy federal credit union N rewards secure card. All it takes is 200 bucks to open. After you make payments on time For 6 months. They will review your account and give you big increase I’m talking about 5k to 10k. There lot of YouTube videos on this just search for it. Once I get over my six months I’ll update you on what they gave me.

I've been seeing Navy Federal brehs eat good over there...they throw out 10k credit lines to anybody.

Im not able to gain membership :mjcry:

I worked for one of those cobranded cards for citi, it’s the same requirements. lmao. You don’t have to prove anything to me but I was in that industry for almost 10 years and I dealt with the very thing you are complaining about.

actually its been a while but I remember my profile. I was living off of cash mostly at the time...and I did ask for SEVERAL increases from them.

had mortgage and car note and two credit cards at the time.

Best Buy and CapOne Platinum secured.

BB started at 300. had it for 4 years. denied numerous times for increase. meanwhile closed up CapOne Plat and they gave me TWO Quicksilver cards...(MC and VISA) with $5k combined limit. then Citi gave me a Double Cash for 10k and Costco Business Visa for 3500 (formerly AMEX) I got other cards as well. and not only did they never give me an increase they closed it. criteria for co-brands vary depending on the brand.

you and I agree that there are multiple factors, I merely stated one, that the lender or the brand may not provide increases.

Wait...if your credit is good enough you can buy a house with 0 down?

what cards do you have again? you should start with secure cards if you are building. someone mentioned Discover which is cool I guess, dont have any experience with their secured, but BoA is one of the best and CapOne is a guaranteed approval. I have mortgage with Navy Fed, but I applied for line of credit and a lot of times they just give you a small amount to start but you can ask for increase the same day you get approved. I did. They gave me 500, I asked for increase within minutes and they approved for 15k. credit unions are the best.

:whoa: dont try this though unless you have built your credit profile to where it needs to be.

I do the same thing and I only have about $16k across all cards:mjlol:

Granted I’ve never asked for an increase nor did I update my income (I’m more than double the income I was in when I applied), but a small part of me is salty I don’t get random increases :lolbron:
