I'm in my 30's and I've only worked 3 jobs my entire life. Two of them I got put on by people I knew and I worked there for years. Feel like I'm really lucky in that regard that I don't have a bunch of stories like this.

I do remember showing up for a job interview at an office park that was located next to KFC, dennys and a mcdonalds. I got there like 20 mins early and just sat in the parking lot, listening to a podcast, and watching to see who else was going in the building. Man it was nothing but youngish looking people wearing ill fitting, wrinkled suits. I was like man I already know this is going to be some bullshyt. I got out of the car and probably got halfway to the front door before I said fukk this and just turned around on a dime and got back in my ride. I drove to mcdonalds, got me a sausage biscuit and hash brown, and went home:mjlol:

Mine was also a bullshyt ass sales job. Only we were trying to sell cellphone plans in front of Ponce City Market. I never felt so embarrassed brehs.

After my first day was over, my boss was telling me how good I was and was looking forward to my progress.

Soon as I hopped in my car, I deleted and blocked his number. Lasted one day.
Damn and you might catch a bad bytch at PCM

I remember the summer before entering the 10th grade, I got a job at local grocery, the manager signed me up on the spot, it was my first and last day on the job...the funny thing is I finished my shift that day, and never returned for my pay cheque lol

Its tough when your not 18-27...You got that energy and can be lied to about how hard or what amount of work you should do....

But when you 30+ and know the game you know when people creating narratives to give you they work or to over work you because the company trying to save money and not hire someone else...plus that energy dies down then you need time for family shyt...

Stack your bread work your way up and invest 18-30 after that you need to be set in a job or its tough mentally and physically...

I worked a sales job for about a week once and walked out during a team meeting. Everyone had warned me about the arrogance and general a-hole 'ishness of the owner and his sales manager, but I didn’t think they were being serious.

I was wrong.

The very first meeting I attended he started off by yelling at us for being poor and driving shytty cars. He said that was the reason we couldn’t sell. Then he told us all he wanted us to submit our fingerprints and facial recognition for a new time clock system he was going to be installing to “keep us in line.”

I laughed in his face and walked out.

:heh: I found this warehouse job on Craigslist that was paying like $18 to do the same shyt I did at my old job, except it was literally a block from me. So I show up for the "interview" and the boss is like "We do XYZ, can you come in tomorrow for training?" 5 mins in :patrice:. I was like cool :manny: it's easy money. I come in the next day and train with this guy who shows me the ropes, and he says "So yeah i'm gonna be taking off in 2 days so you can handle everything" :what:. Breh expected me to learn how operate their complex shipping system and place a bunch of orders in a span of two days. Meanwhile this guy is also the only one who knows how to run the department, so if I fukked up, no one would know what to do :gucci::mjlol:

Turns out, they needed to hire someone to cover for this guy because he basically never takes a day off, since no one wanted the job :mjlol: I told the boss I would come back tomorrow for training then turned off my phone before I went to sleep :heh: breh left a bunch of voicemails that I didn't even listen to, I just deleted them all :mjlol:
This sounds like some shyt from Bob’s Burgers. Genuine tears. :laff::laff::laff:
